Digital Divide Project
West Midlands Combined Authority have commissioned NCA to deliver the Digital Divide Project to empower digitally excluded individuals in Birmingham with essential digital skills, enabling personal growth, access to services, and pathways to learning and employment.
Role Description
To engage and support the local community in Birmingham, providing digital skills support and progression pathways for digitally excluded residents to learning and employment.
- Provide support formally and informally to allow individuals with different levels of skills and prior experience to start their digital journey.
- Provide personalised support - offered one to one and through workshop sessions. Accessible provision needs to be available for those with specific needs with the equipment and specialist software to enable them to develop the skills they need to gain employment.

Requirements
Person Specification
- Ability to engage, manage and motivate participants with varying skill levels.
- Experience of working in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
- Understanding of Safeguarding adults.
- Familiarity with NHS apps, online learning platforms, and employability tools.
- Strong understanding of digital inclusion and barriers faced by marginalised communities.
- Experience in delivering digital skills training or adult education programmes to vulnerable communities, minimum of 2 years’ experience.
- Awareness of barriers facing communities.
- Ability to manage situations with challenging individuals.
- Experience in supporting individuals to make positive life changing decisions and providing wrap around support.
- Flexible approach to respond to the needs of individuals.
- Communicate fluently in community language(s)- Punjabi, Urdu, Hindi (but not limited to).
- Experience of achieving time targeted outcomes.
- Experience of creating and developing monitoring forms and produce regular monthly reports.
- Awareness of online safety.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
