Digital Solutions Engineer (Placement Year Student)
Undergraduate Placement – Customer Success & Product Evolution
Location: Vyn (Sustainable SaaS Solutions, Digital Ecosystem of Telecoms, Utilities & Power) Duration: One-year industry placement

About the Role
This placement offers hands-on exposure to the entire customer journey—from aligning with customer goals, crafting tailored solutions, to analysing data and evolving our product roadmap.
You’ll collaborate with product managers, engineers, and customer success teams to ensure seamless digital transformation before, during, and after work.
Key Responsibilities
Customer & Solution Delivery
- Align with customer objectives and deliver agreed outcomes
- Design end-to-end digital transformation workflows, including:
- Data flow architectures
- Interactive dashboards & storyboards
- AI-driven product configurations tailored to workflows
- Serve as the frontline escalation contact for customer issues:
- Resolve support tickets with urgency
- Provide technical clarification & debugging inputs
- Partner with Customer Success Leads to identify improvements
- Build and customise product solutions based on customer needs

Data & Product Input
- Conduct data analysis and derive actionable customer insights (prioritisation, troubleshooting)
- Contribute to product evolution via detailed feedback loops
- Appeal to field teams & customers who rely on actionable asset/operational intelligence
Your Technical & Academic Background
This opportunity requires:
- Enrolment in a UK-based undergraduate degree (placement year accepted)
- These transferable skills:
- Bold communication & collaboration in cross-disciplinary teams
- Strong attention to analytical detail
- Ability to adapt to ambiguity/change with curiosity and openness
- Foundational web development knowledge:
- HTML/CSS/JavaScript (basic proficiency)
- Interest in learning more (see further technical skills below)
- Plus, the following is advantageous but not compulsory:
- Vetted experience with AWS QuickSight or BI data visualisation platforms
- General familiarity with API interaction (SOAP/REST) or database queries
- SQL exposure a strong plus
