At Serco, we’re reshaping how governments serve citizens by designing intelligent, data-driven, and AI-enabled solutions that enhance lives, strengthen communities, and deliver meaningful public value.
As a Digital Strategic Bids Architect, you’ll lead the creation of next-generation public sector digital solutions—collaborating with CxOs, Chief Digital Officers, and Directors of Transformation—to deliver impactful, citizen-centric outcomes.
Your focus? Strategic opportunity shaping, cutting-edge architecture, and commercial viability—ensuring every bid reflects innovation, ethics, sustainability, and security.
Your Mission
You’ll blend architecture, innovation, and strategy, ensuring all proposals:
- Embed AI and advanced digital capabilities to transform citizen experiences.
- Align with government digital and data strategies (e.g., GDS, CDDO, NHS, MoD).
- Captivate emerging technology trends shaping public service delivery.
- Balance visionary goals with practical delivery and commercial feasibility.
- Partner with global tech leaders (AWS, Microsoft, Google, ServiceNow) to drive modernisation.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Lead strategic bids and transformation programmes, engaging senior stakeholders (CxO, Directors) to shape opportunities.
- Design user-centric solutions, prioritising operational efficiency and citizen outcomes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
