We’re currently looking for smart, curious, and entrepreneurial Digital Strategist to join our office in Brussels.
Digital Strategist
The primary objective of this role will be to partner with account team leaders and staff in Brussels to generate and increase revenues generated from those teams and accounts through up-sell and cross-sell of digital products and services.
The role will report into Director – Consumer & Brand PR The Digital Strategist will be expected to inspire and inject digital innovation into the heart of the operation and work alongside the local practice heads in Brussels, the Benelux, the EMEA digital team, and the global practice.
This individual will help drive Weber Shandwick’s digital new business in Brussels, build the profile of the office/practice in the digital area and continue to spearhead a cultural shift in the agency to bring people on in terms of their approach to digital and technology.
Your role…
With our team
- Work closely with senior management and be responsible for leading digital new business initiatives and pitches
- Play an active role in the wider EMEA digital team
- Work with the management team to develop a future facing vision, continuing to drive and grow digital and social media and accelerate take-up across Weber Shandwick and its clients
- Ensure the office is kept informed of new products and services with training, knowledge-sharing and sales tools
- Drive digital creativity/ideation for accounts across the market leading to the proposal of integrated programs of communications, including multimedia/visual storytelling to our clients
- Lead all digital business development, digital strategy and associated sales processes
- Support commercial growth and expansion of WS Studio offering in the Benelux
- Assist in learning/development of account teams in the Brussels team across all practices to enhance digital skills/knowledge/expertise
- Work together with colleagues in the Corporate and Public Affairs practices to develop digital strategies and programmes that mobilise and activate stakeholders, advance policy objectives, engage employees and ultimately protect our clients’ reputations.
- Partner effectively with creative team on winning integrated concepts
- Be actively involved in the day-to-day development of digital executions to ensure idea integrity from inception to delivery

- Develop the Weber Shandwick digital offer across the entire Brussels office client-base to be industry leading.
Focusing primarily on unlocking organic growth and new business opportunities, recruitment, new product development and industry thought leadership
- Work closely across Weber Shandwick’s client portfolio on integrated briefs and leading the digital element
- Building strong client relationships at a senior level
With our partners:
- Establish and maintain excellent relationships with all the major social platforms and digital suppliers necessary to deliver best-in-class services and consultancy to Weber Shandwick’s clients
- Attend industry digital marketing/PR events both as a speaker and participant to continually improve knowledge and familiarity with industry best practice whilst maximising networking and lead generation opportunities
Digital products and services to be delivered include (non-exhaustively) : social listening, influencer mapping, digital audits, digital/social strategy, digital training, SEO, SEM, web/mobile build, app build (social and mobile), social newsroom, video production, graphics production, content production, social platform development, community management, social media relations, content management, paid media syndication, crisis management and preparedness.
Your profile
- Be a leading digital practitioner, capable of advising and selling services and products to clients across both the communications and social spectra
- Confident and experienced in developing content propositions that are valuable to existing or prospective clients
- Proven track record of developing excellent client relationships and being a trusted partner
- Have a passion for creativity, pace and growth
- Be creatively agitated, constantly thinking of creative digital solutions to solve his or her clients’ problems
- Have proven track record of successfully leading new business drive
- Willing to roll up your sleeves and be involved in the day-to-day aspects of the work
Specific requirements on running programs:
- Digital strategy (website concepting, set up, website maintenance, creative asset creation (infographics, visuals etc.), multi-language website supervision, Google Analytics reports)
- Develop and execute social media content (conversation calendars development, social media campaign implementation, paid social adverts, social media channel management)
- Engagement guidance for community managers, social media playbook development & updates, managing and supervision of local markets social media efforts, monthly planning calls with working group)
- Digital creative concepting and creation for campaigns
- Digital toolkit production – social media playbook, campaign conversation calendar, style guide etc.
- Website/blog/app redesign concepting, scoping, project management
- Social media monitoring – Understanding Sysomos or equivalent, KPIs, reporting
- Infrastructure and digital legal issues (hosting, domains, copyrights, T&C etc)
- SEO (keywords guidance for global and local markets)
