Digital Trading Executive – JDUK

Established in 1981, the JD Group is a leading omni-channel retailer of Sports Fashion, Outdoors, and Gymwear, with a global presence spanning multiple markets.

Founded with a single store in the Northwest of England, JD Sports Fashion Plc was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1996 and became a FTSE100 company in 2019. We’re committed to growing as a people-led, innovative, and customer-focused organisation that delivers operational excellence—while spotting new opportunities for growth.

We seek a Digital Trading Executive to collaborate with the Trading Manager, ensuring we meet commercial targets for sales, gross profit volume (GPV), and earnings before interest and tax (EBIT). Your role will focus on planning, relationship-building, and performance-driven strategies across eCommerce and digital channels.

Role Overview

You will:

  • Collaborate with the Trading Manager to ensure commercial targets are hit.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive trading plan.
  • Build strong relationships with digital channel teams and buying/merchandising functions.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Performance Optimisation

  • Continuously review website content and customer journeys for multi-device consistency (web, mobile, app).
  • Analyse and optimise navigation and site structure to boost visitor/buyer conversion rates.
  • Monitor seasonal trading trends to introduce new brands and ranges that drive sales.
  • Conduct regular website walk-throughs across all platforms.
  • Adjust plans based on retail performance data.
  • Benchmark competitors to identify emerging trends and potential opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
