Digital Trading Manager
Digital Trading Manager
We're looking for a passionate Digital Trading Manager to grow our online sales across wickes.co.uk, our apps, and in-store digital touchpoints.
You’ll be the expert executing our trading plan, delivering top-notch web merchandising, and turning performance data into real, impactful growth for the categories you look after, with a focus on our Design & Installation (D&I) audience as well as flooring and tiling.
Responsibilities

Leading the Digital Trading Plan: Deliver the trading plan for your categories across the website and digital ecosystem, working closely with our Commercial colleagues on promotions, range reviews, and newness.

Optimising the Online Experience:
- Manage tools and techniques to continuously improve website performance and boost sales.
- Focus areas include site search, visual merchandising, product bundling, cross-selling, and social proofing.

Perfecting the Customer Journey:
- Regularly walk through customer paths using analytics and insights to pinpoint friction points and resolve them.

Building Strong Stakeholder Relationships:
- Develop effective partnerships with Buying and Planning teams (Commercial colleagues).
- Share performance data and insights to collaboratively develop a digital growth strategy.

Delivering Actionable Insights:
- Work closely with Commercial teams to identify sales drivers.
- Focus on eCommerce KPIs (e.g., Inbound Traffic, Conversion Rate, Average Transaction Value (ATV), Path to Purchase).
- Provide clear, impactful reports and recommendations for specific interventions and testing.

- Managing and Developing Talent:
- Manage one direct report.
- Support their career growth and ensure their objectives are met within the team.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you’ll have:
- Around 6+ years of Digital Trading Expertise
- Extensive, hands-on experience in digital eCommerce and website trading
- A strong grasp of product discovery, visual merchandising, and full range of key eCommerce KPIs
- A natural leader and collaborator
Key Skills and Experience:
- Data-Driven and Strategic: Proactively utilise data-driven insights for actionable interventions.
- Comorte comfort with:
- Web analytics (Google Analytics / GA4, Contentsquare or similar)
- Google Looker Studio
- CMS systems
- Specialist platforms for Product Discovery, Social Proofing, and Bundling (e.g., Bloomreach, Taggstar, Increasingly)
- Ideally, curiosity and experience using AI tools to enhance productivity and website performance.
- Confident self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
