Digital Workplace Product Lead - Barclaycard Payments

Digital Workplace Product Lead

Own the Digital Workplace platform as a product, providing tools, services, and user experience that enable colleagues to operate effectively from Day 0. The role ensures the workplace environment is simple, scalable, and automation-led, supporting rapid organisational growth without building a traditional, high-touch IT model.


Accountabilities

  • Collaborate with product owners and technical teams to enact the vision defined in the product roadmap, leveraging the bank’s technologies.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to support collaboration between product owners and technical teams.
  • Develop and implement product strategy and vision, communicating this with stakeholders and the development team.
  • Gather and prioritise product requirements and features with internal stakeholders, based on business value, feasibility, measurability, and security.
  • Oversee assessments, testing, and continuous improvement to ensure high product quality and performance.
  • Monitor product performance to identify opportunities for optimisation that align with the bank’s standards.
  • Stay updated with latest industry technology trends to adopt improvements for product development and delivery.

Experience & Skills

Essential

  • Ownership of digital workplace products (EUC, Collaboration Tools – Google Workspace, Slack, Service Portal).
  • Experience with product strategy, roadmap, migration, and user adoption, particularly from M365 to Google Workspace.
  • Understanding of user experience (UX), employee journeys, and AI-driven self-service solutions.
  • Ability to lead teams and drive organisational change.

Highly Valued

  • Greenfield or transformation environments, preferable in regulated financial services.
  • EUC environments in regulated financial services.
  • Knowledge of data analytics, employee feedback loops, and continuous optimisation.

Location & Working Arrangement

  • Based in London, primarily at 1 Churchill Place and 7 Westferry Circus (Barclays Payments Location).
  • Hybrid model (3 days office-based, remainder remote).
  • On-call & emergency availability expected (occasional weekend/evening work).

Barclays’ payments acceptance business provides critical infrastructure, processing billions in transactions annually for businesses and corporates. A new venture after the 2025 partnership with Brookfield Asset Management—enabling growth, innovation, and expanded services. Barclays is investing ~£400m in the initiative, including performance-linked incentives for alignment between partners.
