Dimensional Systems Engineer
Senior Dimensional Quality Engineer (Body Structure/Closure Assembly/Systems)
Are you a hands-on engineering expert with real-world experience in dimensional quality?
We’re looking for engineers to take responsibility for all elements of Dimensional Quality, from the upfront Dimensional Feasibility of BIW Body Structures, Closure Assembly, and Systems product design, to defining and delivering Location and Measurement strategies, supporting assembly and tooling strategies, and ensuring dimensional maturation of new vehicles throughout a product launch.
Responsibilities
Design & Feasibility Review
- Complete a full Dimensional Feasibility Assessment of the latest product design at each geometry freeze, covering Locators, Design Slip, Design Rules and GD&T.
- Document all issues in JIRA, engage with stakeholders, escalate block stories, and drive timely issue resolution.
- Attend Agile squad reviews (sprints, stand-ups, showcases, retrospectives) to ensure robust closure of all raised issues before the next vehicle freeze.
Benchmarking & Problem-Solving
- Conduct internal/external benchmarking to identify issues or potential design solutions.
- Collaborate across teams to resolve challenges and refine processes.
Locator & Tolerance Documentation
- Document single panel and assembly locators in CATIA V6, aligning them with platform strategies and gauging generics.
- Create and maintain Biased and Critical Tolerance brochures, ensuring alignment with platform strategy and availability at all sourcing stages.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
