Facilities Manager (C2 FM) – European Support Group
Job Summary
The Facilities Manager (FM) will lead the delivery of hard and soft facilities management for designated areas within the European Support Group (ESG).
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing stakeholder, supplier (UK delivery organisation, industry partners, and local contractors) and host nation interfaces
- Solving operational issues with independence and clear communication
- Exercising commercial and financial control over Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) ESG FM works
- Collaborating with leadership to develop and deliver the Command Infrastructure Delivery Plan (CIDP) alongside technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
Assistance includes:
- Financial planning/forecasting (budget reviews with Head FM and Business Support Manager)
- Inspection of FM works (with Assurance Manager and Industry Partners), ensuring value-for-money compliance
Duration: 3-year tour of duty (37 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities
Integrated Management System (IMS) & Compliance
- Attend/undertake necessary IMS training and act as Point of Contact (POC) for ESG’s continuous improvement
- Implement and optimise the IMS within ESG, ensuring processes align with DIO Policy
- Ensure DIO ESG personnel are trained and accredited in IMS across the Area of Responsibility (AoR)
- Support Assurance Manager with data collection, reporting, and management reports via IMS

Health, Safety, Environment & Fire (SHEF)
- Review Asbestos and Legionella Management Plans alongside Head FM
- Provide SHEF advice to the team and ensure adherence to H&S policy/legislation
- Conduct SHEF audits (including office and industrial workplace assessments)
- Manage incident reporting (SHEF-related accidents/near-misses involving DIO staff)
- Chair SHEF-related meetings and monitor action plans
- Overseer completion of Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) for DIO staff (aligning with EJSU H&S Representative as necessary)
Person Specification
Industry Background & Skills
- A Facilities Management background (preferably) with ability to operate across diverse European cultures/environments while upholding UK standards
- Effective at stakeholder management, problem-solving, and reporting

- Preference for FM industry memberships or recognised certifications (if available)
