Reports to: Head of Retention

Location: UK, hybrid/remote

Malaberg is building direct mail as a standalone commercial channel inside Retention, and you will own it end-to-end: audiences, formats, vendors, reporting, commercial decisions. You will start on one brand, with more to follow as the channel proves itself. The work is practical, commercial, and hands-on: get the right audiences, coordinate the send, report the ROAS, and scale what works. We sell across the UK and US, so the right person is comfortable thinking across both markets.

What You Will Do

  • Plan and run direct mail sends for lapsed customers, active customers, subscribers, VIPs, cross-sell audiences, and selected cold-audience tests.
  • Manage multiple concurrent lists and segments: warm reactivation, cold prospecting, cross-sell, seasonal. This is not one campaign a quarter; the volume requires someone who can hold several sends in motion at once.
  • Build or brief the audience lists with strong suppression, address QA, and data discipline.
  • Coordinate print and mailing-house delivery: specs, proofs, timelines, mail dates, in-home windows, and issue resolution.
  • Brief Copy and Creative on the commercial job of each piece: audience, offer, format, response mechanic, and success metric.
  • Report send-level ROAS, cost, result, learning, and recommendation: scale, repeat, rework, or stop.
  • Turn the first winning sends into a repeatable weekly or fortnightly direct mail operating rhythm.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

What We’re Looking For

  • Direct mail is your primary discipline. You have run mail programs end-to-end: lists, segmentation, vendor management, print production, drop scheduling, and post-campaign analysis.
  • Commercial judgement: you can talk about ROAS, cost per pack, response rates, contribution, and when to scale or kill a send.
  • Operational grip: you are comfortable managing vendors, proofs, deadlines, files, and moving parts without dropping detail.
  • Data confidence: you can brief audience lists clearly and are willing to get hands-on with customer data workflows.
  • Good creative judgement without needing to be the copywriter or designer. You can bring strong ideas and brief specialists well.
