Position Overview
Crowd DNA is seeking a dynamic, culturally-attuned, sharp, and supportive Director to join the team on a 10-12-month fixed-term contract, providing maternity cover. The key focus of this Director role is:
- Senior leadership of client projects
- Winning and growing work
- Shaping strategic direction
- Ensuring consistency in excellence, team performance, quality, profitability, and cultural direction
This role bridges strategic oversight and hands-on delivery, aiming to:
- Be the go-to thought leader and trusted advisor—internally, coaching teams to build confidence in strategy and narrative, and externally, positioning Crowd DNA as a best-in-class partner for senior clients.
Key contributions include:
- Leading teams for delivery excellence
- Driving business growth
- Establishing the CROWD branding and showcasing agency identity
Key Responsibilities
Knowledge & Craft
- Set the standard for how cultural insight turns into commercial advantage, sharing best practice across the team and with clients
- Bring strategic thinking and best-in-class deliverables while confidently articulating the full spectrum of the Crowd DNA offer
- Review project teams’ work—across all specialisms—and provide strategic guidance

Delivery
- Advise on project design, client management, and debriefs, acting as the final quality filter for all client-facing deliverables
- Provide senior oversight for major accounts, programmes, and multi-market engagements, ensuring excellence and profitability
- Identify and resolve project issues proactively
- Support teams in recovery projects, managing scope creep through strategic client conversations
- Ensure delivery excellence across multiple workstreams by offering clarity, direction, risk-spotting, and commercially viable, strategically impactful solutions
- Lead end-to-end proposals (multidisciplinary), producing strategically strong, commercially sound pitches
- Empower individuals with autonomy, ensuring clear accountability and alignment with strengths

- Engage with senior client stakeholders as a trusted strategic partner
- Grow client relationships and contribute to new business initiatives
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to teams while defining excellence
- Develop synergies between STRAT7 agencies, creating opportunities for the group
- Actively contribute to senior team decisions and drive improvements
Skills & Attributes
Essential
- Demonstrated passion for the intersection of brands, culture, and commercial strategy, with proven impact
- Deep expertise in insights, strategy, or cultural research, with expert-level qualitative and mixed-methodology experience
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and deadlines
- Advanced financial acumen including proposal costing, profitability analysis, and gross profit management
- Sharp attention to detail (numerical, written, and visual deliverables) with early risk identification
- Strategic reframing skills to strengthen briefs, analytical rigor, and make decisions on major accounts
- Ability to synthesise complex information into commercially viable, strategically impactful solutions
- Proven leadership in inspiring and coaching teams, providing constructive feedback, and building confidence
- Confidence to challenge the status quo, engage senior clients, and navigate challenging conversations with diplomacy and credibility
- Outstanding communication skills for knowledge-sharing, thought leadership, and influencing decisions

- Experience using frameworks/tools to raise industry/content standards
- Track record in driving new business, retendering accounts, and retaining clients through relationship growth
- Ability to identify cross-agency synergies, unlocking opportunities for STRAT7’s wider group
Benefits
- Salary: Up to £75,000
- Holiday: 25 days plus UK bank holidays (with a closing period between Christmas and New Year)

Recruitment Process
- First Stage: 30-minute virtual interview
- Second Stage: 60-minute in-office session (task, Q&A, team meet)
- Start Date: Ideally mid-August for handover, latest early September
