About The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to build something from the ground up at one of the world's leading market intelligence companies.
As Director of API & Integrations, you'll own the access layer through which Euromonitor's trusted, proprietary data reaches:
- Enterprise clients
- Partners
- AI systems
Programmatically, at scale.
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you’ll:
- Define the strategy
- Ship the roadmap
- Establish API and MCP (Model Context Protocol) access as a first-class product line
Why This Matters
Enterprise buyers increasingly expect data to reach them inside their own workflows — including:
- BI tools
- Data warehouses
- AI assistants (Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT)
You will ensure that Euromonitor’s cross-category global data is available through:
✔ Well-governed ✔ Commercially aligned ✔ Easy-to-integrate interfaces ✔ Easily adaptable for AI agent development
This role is newly created and highly visible. It will develop into a dedicated API & Ecosystem team, covering:
- Developer experience
- Partner integrations
- Agentic/MCP access
- Usage monetisation
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Roadmapping
- Own the product vision and roadmap for Euromonitor’s API and MCP ecosystem.
- Decide which data domains and endpoints to expose, aligned with Passport Reimagined relaunch.
- Lead backlog prioritisation, user stories, acceptance criteria.
- Balance technical trade-offs with business objectives.
Developer & AI-First Experience
- Treat developers and AI agents as first-class customers.
- Own:
- Documentation
- SDKs
- Developer sandbox
- Authentication
- Onboarding processes
- Drive measurable adoption metrics:
- Time-to-first-successful-call
- Active integrations
- Query volume and retention

Governance & Security
- Partner with Information Security on:
- Authentication (OAuth 2.1, SAML/OIDC)
- Rate limiting
- Entitlement enforcement
- Audit logging
- Ensure zero critical data-exposure incidents.
Commercial Model
- Work with Commercial, Finance and Legal to define:
- Packaging
- Pricing models
- Build usage-analytics infrastructure.
- Deliver a quarterly ecosystem scorecard to the executive team.
Required Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
Technical Expertise
- Proven experience as a product owner for API, data, or platform products.
- Strong technical fluency in:
- REST/GraphQL APIs
- Authentication (OAuth 2.1, SAML/OIDC)
- Webhooks
- SDKs
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Ability to engage with engineering teams and translate business needs into technical requirements.
AI & Agentic Ecosystem Awareness
- Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP).
- Understanding of AI-first data consumption (agents like Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini).
- Experience with data in tools commonly used for AI, BI, or workflow integration.
Domain Knowledge
- Comfort working with large, structured datasets.
- Exposure to data quality, lineage, and entitlement challenges.
- Experience in subscription, SaaS, data, market-intelligence, or similar environments.
Commercial & Stakeholder Skills
- Experience shaping pricing and monetisation models for data/integration access.
- Familiarity with usage-based models.
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
**Governance & Security
**
- Track record of developing and maintaining access control policies.
- Ability to balance data protection with developer efficiency.
Agile & Leadership
- Experience with Agile/Scrum teams as a Product Owner.
- CSPO or equivalent certifications are a plus.
