Director, Applied AI Transformation - Manufacturing & Industrial

Director, Applied AI Transformation – Manufacturing & Industrial

We're looking for a Director, Applied AI Transformation – Manufacturing & Industrial to join our team across Europe in a hybrid or remote working mode. In this role, you will lead large-scale AI and agentic transformation programs for global manufacturing and industrial enterprises, acting as a strategic advisor to C-suite executives and driving measurable business value through applied AI innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute applied AI and agentic transformation strategies for manufacturing and industrial clients
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders on AI adoption and digital transformation initiatives
  • Lead presales efforts including shaping opportunities, building business cases, and supporting origination activities
  • Facilitate ideation workshops to translate operational and business challenges into actionable AI use cases
  • Drive enterprise-wide AI adoption by identifying high-value opportunities and leading change management
  • Lead cross-functional delivery teams to design, develop, and deploy AI and multi-agent systems at scale
  • Maintain hands-on expertise with:
    • Large language models
    • Agent orchestration platforms
    • AI ecosystems across major labs and hyperscalers
  • Ensure AI solutions meet compliance, scalability, and security standards across regulated manufacturing processes
  • Mentor EPAM and client teams to build internal AI capabilities and accelerate adoption
  • Monitor industry trends and represent EPAM as a thought leader in manufacturing and industrial AI transformation

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing and industrial sectors, with a proven track record in business transformation or large-scale technology programs
  • Strong understanding of:
    • ERP landscapes
    • Process automation
    • Compliance
    • Operational workflows (supply chain, production, maintenance)
  • Proven experience:
    • Advising C-suite executives
    • Designing AI adoption strategies for complex organizations
  • Practical experience with:
    • Applied AI
    • Large language models
    • RAG frameworks
    • Multi-agent systems
  • Familiarity with:
    • Major AI labs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft)
    • Hyperscaler ecosystems (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Ability to shape business cases and convert transformational AI opportunities in presales contexts
  • Leadership experience in managing global, cross-functional teams in regulated environments
  • Exceptional client-facing communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business; MBA preferred
  • Ability to travel as required
