Director – Global Residential Development Consultancy (GRDC)
Role Overview
Savills is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Director for a senior leadership position within its Global Residential Development Consultancy (GRDC), a market leader in the branded residential sector.
The GRDC team operates under the Global Residential Development (GRD) department, consisting of two core divisions:
- Consultancy
- Sales & Marketing
These teams collaborate to deliver seamless, end-to-end client services—from project conception to successful commercialisation.
Based at Savills’ London headquarters, with satellite operations in Dubai, the team has a global remit, spanning regions from the Caribbean to Japan. The six core service lines they provide include:
- Market Intelligence & Thought Leadership
- Development Consultancy & Feasibility
- Brand Premium Studies
- Brand / Operator Search, Selection & Contract Negotiation
- Operational Advisory
- Capital Markets
The Director will lead and expand a diverse range of consultancy services across all core areas, including development consultancy, feasibility, operational advisory, and brand strategy. While experience in brand/operator selection is valuable, the role has a wider strategic advisory focus, not limited to a single service line. Business development will be a global responsibility, helping drive the team’s strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive global business development, originating and securing new mandates across multiple markets
- Manage senior stakeholder relationships with developers, hotel operators, and ultra-high-net-worth clients
- Deliver integrated client solutions in collaboration with internal and external partners
- Advise clients across the full project lifecycle—from concept to commercialisation
- Oversee project delivery, including resource allocation and team management
- Support financial performance, including P&L oversight
- Lead strategic growth and positioning via recruitment, organic expansion, and succession planning
- Provide career development support for team members through training, coaching, and mentoring
- Undertake regular international travel for client engagement and industry events

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
