Description
Turner Property Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a leading multidisciplinary property consultancy to appoint an Associate Director / Senior Associate Director / Director – MEP Building Services Engineering for its Manchester office.
This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Engineer to play a pivotal role in establishing and growing the consultancy's MEP presence across the North of England.
The appointment is available at Associate Director, Senior Associate Director or Director level, depending on experience, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build and lead a team with the full support of an established London MEP division.
This is a strategic leadership role combining technical excellence, client development and team growth. You'll lead the delivery of MEP design, technical advisory and professional engineering services across a wide variety of sectors, while helping to shape the future direction of the Manchester MEP team. Working closely with senior leadership, you'll have genuine autonomy to develop the regional service offering, recruit and mentor engineers, and contribute to the wider growth of the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Business Development
Business development is a fundamental part of this opportunity. We're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities and winning work. You don't need an extensive client following, but you should have the commercial awareness, confidence and drive to develop existing relationships, generate new business and become a recognised figure within the North West property and construction market. You'll represent the business at networking events, client meetings and industry functions while working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider consultancy to maximise cross-selling opportunities.
Technical Role
Technically, you'll lead the design and specification of mechanical and electrical building services from concept through to detailed design, ensuring compliance with current legislation, British Standards and industry best practice. You'll also oversee technical reviews, undertake feasibility studies, technical due diligence, condition surveys, planned preventative maintenance programmes, lifecycle assessments, capital expenditure planning and asset management advice. Advising clients on decarbonisation, net zero strategies, energy efficiency and sustainable building design will form an important part of the role.
