Position Description

At CGI, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping some of the UK’s largest organisations navigate complex transformation and realise lasting business outcomes. As a senior leader within our Business Consulting practice, you’ll shape enterprise-wide change strategies, build trusted executive relationships and grow a market-leading People Change and Adoption capability. You’ll combine strategic insight with commercial leadership to win and deliver high-impact consulting engagements, while developing talented teams in a collaborative environment where innovation, ownership and continuous growth are encouraged.

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.

Your future duties and responsibilities

As Director Business Consulting – Business Change, you will lead and grow CGI's People Change and Adoption capability, combining strategic consulting expertise with commercial leadership to expand our market presence. You will work closely with executive stakeholders to shape and deliver complex organisational transformation programmes, acting as a trusted advisor while identifying and securing new consulting opportunities. Alongside client engagement, you will lead a high-performing team, fostering professional growth, driving innovation and ensuring the continued evolution of our Business Change offering to meet changing client needs.

You will also take ownership of the commercial performance of the capability, balancing business growth, delivery excellence and financial governance. By mentoring consultants, strengthening client partnerships and championing best practice, you will help ensure CGI continues to deliver sustainable value for clients while building a thriving consulting practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and Grow the People Change & Adoption consulting capability in line with CGI's strategic objectives.
  • Identify and Win new Business Change consulting opportunities through executive-level business development.
  • Shape and Deliver compelling client propositions, bids and enterprise-wide transformation solutions.
  • Advise and Influence C-suite stakeholders on strategic organisational change and transformation.
  • Sponsor and Oversee complex Business Change engagements as Engagement Manager or Executive Sponsor.
  • Drive Excellence across consulting engagements, ensuring quality, innovation and measurable client outcomes.
  • Coach and Develop a team of Business Change consultants, supporting career growth and capability development.
  • Recruit and Build high-performing consulting teams aligned to market demand.
  • Manage and Optimise revenue, profitability, utilisation and financial performance across the practice.
  • Govern and Assure delivery through CGI management frameworks and executive governance activities.

Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role

We're looking for an accomplished Business Change consulting leader with significant experience shaping and leading enterprise-wide transformation within complex organisations. You will bring a strong commercial mindset, an established consulting background and the ability to build trusted executive relationships that drive business growth. Equally important is your passion for developing people, leading high-performing teams and delivering strategic outcomes for clients.

You should have:

  • A recognised professional Change Management accreditation (such as Prosci, PCI, APMG Change Management, ACMP CCMP or equivalent practitioner-level certification).
  • Significant experience leading strategic organisational change and enterprise transformation programmes.
  • A proven track record of defining and leading Business Change strategies, beyond project or programme delivery.
  • Extensive consulting experience with the ability to originate, shape and win new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated success building trusted relationships with C-suite and senior client stakeholders.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary consulting teams and developing consulting talent.
  • Proven track record of consultancy experience.
  • Commercial accountability for consulting revenue, profitability and business growth.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills.
  • Experience operating within complex, matrixed organisations and managing multiple strategic priorities.
