Our Client
Oxygen 8 Recruitment is partnering with an established healthcare market research and insights provider to find their next Director of Business Development.
Our client works with a global network of healthcare professionals and delivers a range of research solutions, from fast-turnaround studies to large-scale tracking programmes, for pharma, medtech, and healthcare organisations worldwide. As the business scales, they're looking for a Director of Business Development to lead from the front.
The Opportunity
We're hiring a Director of Business Development to own a significant portion of the Insights revenue and shape the commercial strategy for how the business grows with pharma and healthcare clients. This is a senior individual contributor role, not a people-management position, you'll be the named lead on strategic accounts, working directly with clients rather than managing a team, and reporting directly into commercial leadership.
This role suits a proven senior sales professional from healthcare market research, HCP insights, or pharma-facing data/analytics, who's ready to take on ownership of major accounts and revenue at scale, while staying close to the deals themselves.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
