Introduction to role

Are you ready to harness AI to accelerate cell therapy trials and improve outcomes for people facing cancer and immune-mediated disease? AstraZeneca is building a world-class capability in AI for Clinical Development to transform how we design, run and analyze trials across our pipeline. As Director, Cell Therapy AI Business Partner, you will be the senior scientific and business link between our enterprise cell therapy leaders and the AI for Clinical Development team, turning unmet needs into a clear, high-value portfolio of AI solutions that deliver measurable impact.

Based in Cambridge, UK, you will sit between clinical and scientific experts in cell therapy and AI scientists and engineers. You will frame rigorous clinical questions, shape them into tractable AI problems, guide development and validation, and drive adoption so solutions are trusted at the point of decision. In a fast-moving field, you will bring clarity, build credibility with senior stakeholders, demonstrate value early and scale what works.

Do you thrive where cutting-edge science meets machine intelligence and enjoy leading through ambiguity to deliver evidence that changes decisions? This is your chance to shape the roadmap for AI in cell therapy clinical development across a diverse enterprise portfolio.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
