Join Aristocrat’s ambitious team as the Director, Compliance Audit – iLottery & Interactive! This is a unique opportunity to lead and coordinate our compliance audit program across our global iLottery portfolio and broader interactive business. You will partner with diverse teams to ensure audit readiness, regulatory compliance, and robust control frameworks in a highly regulated environment, while innovating with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to deliver world-class audit processes and controls.
About the Role
The Director, Compliance Audit will:
- Drive a global compliance audit strategy for iLottery, covering platforms, operations, customer implementations, and supporting services.
- Develop and execute a risk-based audit plan, addressing regulatory, operational, security, technology, and service delivery controls.
- Lead all aspects of external audits and certifications, including SOC 1, SOC 2, ISO 27001, WLA-SCS, PCI-DSS, and jurisdiction-specific requirements.
- Maintain audit readiness across iLottery regions by conducting proactive control assessments, identifying gaps, and overseeing remediation progress.
- Collaborate with customer-facing teams to support regulatory reviews, customer audits, RFP responses, and compliance due diligence.
- Promote harmonisation of audit procedures and control frameworks across multiple jurisdictions and operational models.
- Act as a subject matter expert on global iLottery regulatory requirements and industry compliance standards.
- Monitor emerging regulatory developments to ensure audit frameworks remain adaptive.
- Partner with Compliance, Legal, Cybersecurity, Privacy, and Risk teams to strengthen regulatory mitigation strategies.
- Evaluate controls for responsible gaming, information security, data protection, financial reporting, vendor management, and operational resilience.
- Serve as the primary audit liaison for customers, regulators, certification bodies, and external auditors.
- Provide strategic reporting and recommendations to senior leadership on audit outcomes, compliance posture, risk exposure, and remediation progress.

- Develop and implement a global compliance audit strategy for iLottery, ensuring alignment with both business and regulatory objectives.
- Lead the risk-based audit planning process to address evolving regulatory, operational, and security risks.
- Oversee global audit readiness efforts, including gap assessments, controls testing, and remediation tracking.

External Audits & Certifications
- Manage external audits, regulatory examinations, and certifications (e.g., SOC 1/2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, WLA-SCS), ensuring adherence to international standards.
- Act as the principal interface with external auditors, regulators, and certification bodies on all audit-related matters.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Mitigation
- Advise executive leadership on compliance risks, regulatory exposures, and strategic remediation priorities.
- Collaborate with legal, risk, and cybersecurity teams to enhance control frameworks and reduce adverse incidents.
- Drive harmonisation of global compliance practices while navigating jurisdiction-specific requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with customer implementation teams to support regulatory reviews, bid responses, and due diligence.
- Represent the business in external engagements, including customer audits, regulatory consultations, and certification assessments.
- Develop audit reports and leadership briefings, translating complex compliance data into actionable insights.
Operational Excellence
- Continuously evaluate and improve controls related to financial reporting, operational resilience, responsible gaming, and data protection.
- Identify emerging regulatory trends and ensure proactive adaptation of audit frameworks.
Requirements
Experience & Expertise
- 10+ years of progressive experience in compliance, internal audit, risk management, governance, or regulatory oversight in a highly regulated industry.
- Strong background in iLottery, gaming, financial services, technology, or digital platform compliance.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex global audit programs spanning multiple jurisdictions and regulatory frameworks (e.g., WLA-SCS, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001).
- Practical experience with external audits, certification processes, and regulatory examinations.
- Experience working at the interface between audit teams, executive leadership, and external stakeholders (customers, regulators, certifiers).
- Deep knowledge of key industry frameworks, including SOC 1/2, ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, NIST, COBIT, or equivalent.
Technical & Analytical Skills
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities to assess control effectiveness and identify gaps.
- Skilled in risk assessment methodologies, governance models, and internal control frameworks.
- Ability to balance compliance obligations with business priorities and operational efficiency.

- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills — both locally and globally.
- Project management acumen with the ability to prioritise, execute, and deliver audit initiatives on time.
- Diplomatic and collaborative nature to engage with legal, business, IT, and regulatory teams.
- Certifications preferred, such as:
- CIA (Certified Internal Auditor)
- CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor)
- CRISC (Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control)
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional)
- CGEIT (Certified in Government Auditing Standards)
