Director, Corporate Affairs & Communications (UK & Ireland)

Key Responsibilities

Under the direction of the General Manager UK & Ireland, this role ensures BeOne is comprehensively represented across various stakeholders, maintaining strong communication of our corporate vision and mission.

Core Responsibilities

  • Strategy Execution: Develop and implement UK & Ireland Corporate Affairs & Communications planning (communication, government affairs, corporate affairs, and public affairs) aligned with BeOne’s global strategy.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain relationships with key partners including healthcare institutions, trade associations, working groups, particularly oncology and haematology societies, government bodies, and patient communities.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Steer planning and execution of campaigns, roadmaps, and collaborations with these stakeholders.
  • Leadership & Alignment: Active participation in the UK & Ireland Leadership Team, supporting co-creation and execution of local strategies.
  • Reputation Management:
    • Elevate BeOne’s reputation among external stakeholders.
    • Create communication strategies tailored to business priorities.
    • Train leaders to engage stakeholders confidently and authentically.
  • Employee Engagement & Change Management:
    • Foster internal communication with leadership and regular updates on milestones.
    • Align management around key objectives such as employee orientation, development and motivation.
  • Enhancing Product Awareness: Increase visibility of BeOne products within the haemato-oncology market.

Patient Advocacy & Awareness

  • Develop and implement the UK & Ireland patient advocacy strategy, partnering with local patient advocacy organisations.
  • Spearhead initiatives to amplify patients’ voices, improve partnerships with influential groups and bolster awareness.
  • Launch collaborative media and digital campaigns to accelerate patient disease awareness and access advocacy initiatives.
  • Encourage employee involvement in community events, healthcare, and charity activities across haemato-oncology focus areas.

Public & Government Affairs

  • Formulate and execute public affairs strategies to position BeOne as a thought leader in oncology.
  • Strengthen relations with government officials, healthcare influencers, and relevant patient/medical alliances.
  • Monitor and communicate key healthcare regulatory developments impacting global strategy.
  • Manage financial remits, budget allocation, and agency partnerships for Corporate Affairs programs.

Project & Operational Management

  • Leverage project management and analytics to ensure successful implementation of initiatives.
  • Oversee HR administration, billing and vendor collaboration across Corporate Affairs functions.
  • Establish measurable performance metrics for CSR/CA impact reporting.
  • Ensure alignment and teamwork with Global/European & Multi-function Leadership Teams.
  • Compliance Enforcement: Monitor adherence to BeOne Standards of Conduct, striving for ethical engagement, aligning with beyond compliance principles.

Education & Experience

  • Degree-level education in communications, public health/policy management, or clinical sciences is essential, with additional advantage from MBA or PhD.
  • Minimum 15 years in corporate affairs, communications, or public relations roles, preferably in pharma, biotech or oncology.
  • Proven expertise in understanding healthcare systems and regulatory regulations.

Communication & Stakeholder Management

  • Advanced social and interpersonal skills, with proficient oral & written communication in English and specific local language.
  • Additional skills in one or more major European languages are an asset.
  • Track record of success within fast-paced, collaborative entrepreneurial environments.

Technical & Leadership Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and enterprise CRM management systems.
  • Operational expertise covering strategic oversight, cross function collaboration and logistical business plans.

Compensation

Salary Range (UK): £105,700 - £132,100
