As an Nscaler, you’ll build trust through openness and transparency, where everyone is inspired to do their best work. If you join our team, you’ll be contributing to building the technology that powers the future.
About The Role
We’re hiring a Director, Corporate Compliance to take Nscale’s corporate compliance programme from design to reality as we build toward continued global expansion
Reporting to the SVP, Global Compliance and Ethics, you’ll sit within the Legal & Compliance team and partner across the business at every level — from presenting to the CLO to troubleshooting operational processes with frontline teams. You’ll manage the Senior Manager, Ethics and Compliance and lead the systems, controls, workflows, and reporting that make the function run.
This is a hands-on execution role: approximately 80% of your time will be spent building, delivering, and embedding processes. If you’re energized by turning structured plans into operating reality, creating audit-ready evidence, and helping a fast-moving business scale with integrity, this role is built for you.
What you'll be doing
Programme delivery and training
- Build and run the group-wide compliance training programme, including onboarding, annual refreshers, role-specific modules, and a dedicated people managers track.
- Own training completion rates and ensure the programme is embedded across the business, not just delivered.
- Keep all compliance procedures running to schedule while continuously improving workflows as operations and the team expand.
Speak-up, conflicts, and investigations operations
- Own the speak-up hotline end to end, including intake, triage, case management, and regular investigations visibility reporting to the SVP.
- Ensure hotline matters are progressed promptly so nothing sits uninvestigated.
- Design and roll out Nscale’s conflicts of interest programme, including policy, disclosure workflows, a disclosure register, and the annual certification cycle.
- Partner with the Senior Manager, Compliance & Ethics to support programme delivery and adoption.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Controls, risk, and audit readiness
- Drive key risk areas to audit-ready maturity, with evidence packs to show for progress and readiness.
- Maintain and test the risk and controls register on an ongoing basis.
- Own anti-money laundering and anti-bribery controls, ensuring they are documented, tested, proportionate, and defensible under external scrutiny.
Systems, reporting, and compliance operations
- Build and maintain the SVP’s primary view of programme health across training completion, speak-up status, conflicts of interest, and controls maturity.
- Own and oversee maintenance of a live compliance operations manual that reflects how the function actually works.
- Select and implement the compliance management system, designing the workflows and backend processes that sit behind the programme.
- Position the compliance management system as an enterprise-wide GRC platform serving Legal, Finance, and Operations, converting the compliance function into a genuine shared service.
Global expansion and scale
- Build a repeatable playbook for standing up compliance in new jurisdictions as Nscale expands geographically.
- Work across business functions to operationalise compliance requirements in a way that enables commercial opportunities to scale confidently and sustainably.
- Create practical, proportionate processes that support a high-growth, fast-moving environment.
KPIs
- Training completion rates across onboarding, annual refreshers, role-specific modules, and people manager training
- Speak-up hotline intake, triage, case management, and investigations visibility
- Conflicts of interest disclosure workflow adoption and annual certification completion
- Audit-ready maturity across key risk areas, controls testing, and evidence packs
About You
- 10–12 years’ experience in compliance, ethics, or a related field, with a clear track record of building programmes, not just running them.
- Demonstrable experience designing and delivering compliance training at scale.
- Hands-on knowledge of AML, ABC, and KYC requirements and how to apply them proportionately.
- Experience implementing compliance systems and tooling; you have selected and built systems, not just administered them.
- People management experience, including developing and motivating direct reports.
- Experience operating in a high-growth, fast-moving environment; start-up, scale-up, or global experience preferred.
- High initiative, with a bias for action and a low tolerance for things sitting undone.
- Strong stakeholder range, from presenting programme updates to senior legal leadership to working through process problems with operational teams.
- Strong upward management, with the judgement to keep leadership informed, flag issues early, and know what to escalate versus solve directly.
- Sound judgement and pragmatism, with the ability to make compliance credible, proportionate, and effective in a fast-moving business.
