Eton Bridge Partners have been retained on a confidential search to appoint a Director of Corporate Finance for a large scale, infrastructure led, private equity owned business operating in a capital intensive and regulated environment.

This role, reporting directly to the CFO, will lead corporate finance, funding strategy, capital structure optimisation, treasury and investor relations. The appointment is a critical hire within the finance leadership team, supporting a significant balance sheet transformation and positioning the organisation for its next phase of ownership and long term value creation.

The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping and executing this agenda while building a best in class corporate finance capability.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the development and execution of financial strategy, including capital structure optimisation, funding solutions and long term liquidity planning aligned to strategic objectives.
  • Own debt and equity funding activities, refinancing initiatives and stakeholder engagement with lenders, investors and credit rating agencies.
  • Oversee treasury operations, cash management, forecasting and financial risk management across the Group.
  • Support capital allocation decisions, investment appraisal and strategic financial analysis to drive value creation.
  • Lead financial input into M&A, restructuring or strategic transactions where required.
  • Build and develop a high performing corporate finance function, including organisational design, capability assessment and team development.
  • Partner closely with the CFO, Board and shareholders, providing insight and recommendations on financing strategy and balance sheet sustainability.
  • Contribute as a key member of the finance leadership team, supporting broader finance transformation and performance improvement initiatives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
