Overview
Mastercard has a vision to build a leadership position as the only truly multi-rail payments technology company, and Europe is at the forefront in defining and executing this strategy. Commercial payments present a large opportunity for Mastercard in the European region. This role will focus on developing and growing:
- Commercial products and solutions for large-market B2B and Travel & Entertainment (T&E)
- Supplier payments and embedded finance technology partnerships
Key Accountabilities
Sales Growth & Market Expansion
- Grow commercial spend volumes and revenue through an end-to-end approach, including:
- Identifying and activating opportunities with new or existing customers across the European region
- Driving scalable opportunities in commercial payments by collaborating with existing issuers and local stakeholders

Strategic Leadership
- Set Commercial and B2B sales strategy through a segmented approach towards:
- Banks
- Corporates
- Partners
Pipeline Management
- Responsible for rigorous pipeline management across different segments, coordinating with:
- Regional product development teams
- Local account management teams
Solution Development
- Introduce commercial cards and non-cards solutions to the market, including:
- Expense management
- Virtual cards
- Business-to-business (B2B) payments
- Working capital solutions
- Supplier acceptance & onboarding
- Business intelligence tools
Customer Engagement
- Prospect, contact, and contract new:
- Customers
- Business partners
- Through multiple channels:
- Direct contact
- International meetings
- Events & conferences
- Coordination of external lead generation activities
Leadership & Account Management
- Lead conversations with key decision-makers at:
- New customers
- Existing customers
Industry Relationships & Engagement
- Enhance ongoing business development relationships in:
- Commercial payments
- T&E
- B2B spaces
- By organising and participating in:
- Forums
- Webinars
- Customer trainings
Role Type

Qualifications and Experience
Essential Competencies
- Excellent commercial payments experience in the industry
- Deep understanding of:
- B2B payment flows
- T&E payment flows
- Business needs in large organisations
- Purchase-to-pay process
- General card economics
- Successful career in introducing existing and emerging B2B commercial payments solutions, spanning multiple years
Strategic Business Development Skills
- Proven experience creating, executing, and managing business development strategies for:
- B2B payments
- P2P technologies
- Commercial cards
- Travel payments

Corporate Security Responsibilities
