Job Overview

We are seeking a strategic Director, Deal and Proposal Desk to lead our proposal management, pricing desk operations, and deal approval processes within our solution sales organization. In this role, you will leverage technology and artificial intelligence tools to optimize workflows, ensuring accurate pricing and compelling proposals that drive our business forward.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience writing proposals, preferably within the energy, sustainability, or consulting industries.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with energy efficiency, sustainability, and regulatory compliance services (such as GHG inventories, energy audits, and building performance standards) is strongly preferred.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in proposal management and pricing strategy within a complex sales environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using artificial intelligence tools, such as generative AI or automated proposal software, to streamline content creation and data analysis.
  • Strong financial acumen with direct experience running a pricing desk or similar operations.
  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to manage multiple high-priority deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with Request For Proposal (RFP) and Request For Quote (RFQ) processes and proposal management software is a plus.
  • Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to produce accurate, client-ready documents with minimal supervision.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with internal teams and clients.

Responsibilities

Proposal Management

  • Lead the end-to-end proposal development cycle, from initial intake to final submission.
  • Utilize artificial intelligence and automation tools to draft, refine, and assemble proposal content efficiently.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to ensure all proposals are technically accurate and aligned with client needs.

Pricing Desk

  • Manage the pricing desk function, developing competitive and profitable pricing models for prospective deals.
  • Leverage tech-enabled platforms and data analytics to evaluate pricing structures, market trends, and historical win rates.
  • Provide clear pricing guidance to the sales team while maintaining compliance with internal margin requirements.

Deal Approval and Execution

  • Oversee the final approval process for all executed deals, ensuring all terms, pricing, and deliverables meet corporate standards.
  • Act as the final checkpoint for contract accuracy before formal execution.
  • Maintain a centralized repository of approved deals using advanced contract management software.

Salary Description

The good faith salary range for this position is $80,000-$100,000 per year, and the final offer will be based on a candidate’s experience, education, and qualifications.

  • This is a remote position open to candidates based in the United States.
