About the Role
Cirrus Logic is an industry leader in mixed-signal processing, shaping award-winning culture and innovative solutions for top consumer brands. This Director role demands deep technical expertise with bold leadership in:
- Strategy & scalability for semiconductor and engineering IT operations
- High-performance compute environments, EDA tool infrastructure, job schedules, revision control, enterprise storage, automation, and engineering productivity tooling
- Ensuring high availability, security, and scalability for mission-critical chip development workflows
Key Responsibilities
Strategic leadership
- Define and lead global infrastructure strategy for semiconductor design engineering
- Forecast capacity needs, develop roadmaps for compute/storage growth, ensuring alignment with business and product goals
Operations & reliability
- Drive 24x7 production excellence, managing incident response, root cause analysis, change management, and disaster recovery strategies
- Optimize Linux infrastructure, enterprise storage, HPC/compute farms, and observability platforms
- Operate at enterprise scale, supporting tens of petabytes in NAS/SAN environments

- Boost engineering productivity with automation, self-service platforms, and deterministically reliable infrastructure

Who You Are
Technical Expertise
Linux Infrastructure & Enterprise Storage
- Proven expertise in RHEL/CentOS administration for high-performance engineering workloads
- Mastery of:
- NFS, LDAP/AD, DNS/DHCP, SSH, PAM, security hardening
- Filesystem ACLs, identity, permissions management
Enterprise Storage
- Hands-on experience with 100s of petabytes in multi-site global environments
- High-availability (HA) SAN/NAS administration, coupled with disaster recovery, data backup, and engineering continuity
Compute & HPC Administration
- Operate distributed compute environments for semiconductor workflows at scale (e.g., 5K+ servers under management)
- Deep knowledge of IBM Spectrum LSF, including:
- Job prioritization, fair-share scheduling, resource policies
- Farm utilization analytics, capacity forecasting, millions of daily jobs
- Tuning regression infrastructure and reproducible pipelines
EDA & Semiconductor Environment
- Insight into RTL-to-GDSII (RISC-V/ASIC) flows, verification regressions, synthesis, and license management
- Experience with Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor environments and:
- Stakeholders in tapeout-critical deadlines and deterministic environments
- Understanding of performance bottlenecks in EDA workflows

- Perforce operational mastery:
- Database management, binary repository performance, network access optimisation
- Backup, replication strategies, and enterprise-scale permissions architecture
- Secondary expertise in Git/CI-CD, including hardware development pipelines
Automation & Platform Engineering
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) advancing configuration, provisioning, and self-service platforms
- Technologies: Terraform, Kubernetes, Puppet, Python, Shell scripting, Ansible
- Observability stack expertise: Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK
Leadership & Collaboration
- Scalable team leadership: Direct HPC admins, DevOps engineers, and storage specialists
- 24x7 operational excellence: Formulate SLA/SLOs, incident drills, and RCA programs
- Security compliance, disaster recovery, and global collaboration with:
- Silicon engineering
- CAD**, EDA, program managers, executive leadership
