Job Overview
Join Arm’s Solution Architecture Team as a Technical Leader, where you’ll drive the design, validation, and delivery of a high-performance and resilient global engineering platform. This leadership role offers the chance to:

As part of the Arm Engineering IT department, we engineer the platforms that orchestrate large-scale, complex engineering workflows. Our multidisciplinary approach combines Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and Systems Architecture to improve and evolve these foundational systems.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership:
- Define roadmaps for systems supporting Arm’s engineering platforms.
- Align Arm’s strategic goals with architectural decisions.

- Continuously evaluate new technologies, practices, and industry trends.
- Introduce exemplary solutions for visionary platform and operations.

Architectural Ownership:
- Lead the design and integration of scalable, secure, and high-performance systems.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle—from conception to delivery.

Multi-functional Partnership:
- Collaborate with senior engineering, product, and IT leaders to align solutions with evolving needs.
- Propose infrastructure innovations that drive operational excellence.

- Guide and inspire a team of skilled software architects.

Required Skills & Experience
- Leadership Experience: Proven track record leading architecture or platform engineering initiatives at scale, preferably in a senior or managerial role.
- Hybrid Infrastructure Expertise:
- Experience advancing datacenter (OpenStack) and cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) strategies, including:
- Autonomous composable infrastructure via Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Policy-driven assembly for dynamic environments.
- Experience advancing datacenter (OpenStack) and cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) strategies, including:
- High-Performance Computing/Throughput (HPC/HTC):
- Deep knowledge of scheduling, tooling, licensing, and optimising compute-intensive workflows.
- Familiarity with EDA (Electronic Design Automation) or similar compute-heavy processes.
- Software Development Practices:
- Proficiency in SDLC, DevOps, version control, automated testing, CI/CD, and code review.
- Strong emphasis on collaborative workflows and developer experience.
- Observability & Security:
- Expertise in system observability (e.g., Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry).
- Hands-on experience with SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) and security models, including TLS, OAuth, SPIFFE, and zero-trust principles.
- Ensures resilience, self-healing, and compliance.
'Nice to Have' Skills*
- Data Lakes & Storage Mechanisms:
- Experience with S3-based data storage solutions (e.g., Artifactory, LakeFS, Databricks).
- AI/ML-Augmented Environments:
- Knowledge of enhancing engineering workflows using automation, machine learning, or AI-driven insights.

Salary Range
£168,300 – £227,700 per year.
