If you’re looking to take an exciting new direction with your HSBC career, an internal move can open the door to many opportunities, allowing you to take on a new challenge, and develop your skills. Bring your knowledge of our brand to a new role and grow yourself further.

Join Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) in a high-impact Business Oversight role, providing a connected enterprise view of risk to help senior leaders make informed, risk-based decisions. You’ll shape how the enterprise risk story is constructed and communicated—synthesising interconnected risks into one clear, forward-looking narrative for key stakeholders and committees, highlighting what’s changing, why it matters, and what to do next.

In this role you will:

  • Drive the embedding of the Risk Management Framework and its continuous enhancement and simplification across IWPB.
  • Deliver high-quality risk reporting and disclosure materials for senior management committees, providing clear and decision-useful insight, and ensuring stakeholders understand the IWPB’s risk profile, risk appetite position, and governance narrative.
  • Provide Enterprise Risk insights that connect the dots across risk stripes, perform risk aggregation and cross-risk analysis and provide a holistic view for IWPB CRCO and senior management.
  • Support CRCO as cross-functional integration point for enterprise initiatives spanning multiple risk areas, coordinate cross-risk activities and provide a single, coherent view.
  • Provide oversight for IWPB of cross-cutting risks under ERM stewardship and relevant to IWPB including strategic execution, climate and sustainability, reputation, AI and DAC.
  • Lead a small, agile team and role-model strong risk culture behaviours, including coaching and mentoring across global virtual teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
