Overview

The Director, Global Aerospace Operations is a strategic leadership role responsible for driving global operational excellence, commercial alignment, and scalable growth within AIT Worldwide Logistics' aerospace vertical. This position provides enterprise-wide leadership across regions, ensuring standardized processes, regulatory compliance, and exceptional service delivery while supporting business development objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence & Standardization
    • Lead the development and implementation of global standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent aerospace freight handling across all regions
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, service quality, and operational discipline
    • Establish standardized communication protocols, escalation frameworks, and service expectations across all locations
  • Quote Performance & Service Responsiveness
    • Collaborate with pricing, operations, and commercial teams to improve quote turnaround times and response accuracy
    • Develop frameworks to improve quote conversion rates by aligning operational capabilities with customer requirements
    • Monitor performance metrics and implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement
  • Client-Centric Operational Design
    • Translate customer requirements into tailored operational solutions in partnership with commercial teams
    • Lead the development of customer-specific SOPs, service models, KPIs, and communication structures
    • Ensure seamless onboarding and operational readiness for new customer implementations
  • Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
    • Ensure adherence to all applicable regulatory, security, and industry standards within aerospace logistics
    • Partner with compliance teams to implement and maintain robust compliance frameworks
    • Promote a culture of accountability, audit readiness, and operational discipline
  • Leadership & Performance Management
    • Define and manage KPIs across key operational and commercial areas, including service quality, quote performance, customer satisfaction, and compliance adherence
    • Provide regular reporting and actionable insights to senior leadership on performance trends, risks, and opportunities
    • Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and commercial outcomes
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications

Experience

  • 15+ years of experience in global logistics, aerospace operations, or a related field (required)
  • Work experience with global compliance and regulatory frameworks (required)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong background in operational process design, SOP development, and continuous improvement
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven experience leading global teams and cross-functional initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to align operations with commercial strategy and drive revenue growth

The wage range for this position is $121,950.00-$259,310.00 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience.

What AIT Can Offer You

In addition to your base compensation, you may be eligible for a bonus based on achievement of business and/or individual performance metrics (dependent on position).
