World Fuel is a global energy management company providing energy procurement, supply fulfilment, and transaction management solutions. We serve commercial and industrial customers in aviation, marine, land transportation, and government sectors. We offer fuel, natural gas, electricity, and energy advisory services, including sustainability and renewable energy programs.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, Government Solutions (EMEA) to lead Europe sales team in driving growth and expanding our footprint within the government sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in selling complex solutions to government entities, a deep understanding of government procurement processes, and exceptional leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and market penetration goals within the government sector.
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key government stakeholders, understanding their needs and positioning our solutions to meet those needs.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape, informing strategic decisions.
- Proposal Development: Oversee the development of compelling proposals and presentations that effectively communicate the value of our solutions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and customer support, to ensure alignment and drive customer success.
- Compliance: Ensure all sales activities comply with government regulations and procurement policies.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of fuel sales experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on government sales.
- Track Record: Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets and growing market share within the government sector - specifically NSPA, UK MoD or similar European contracts.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of government procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse sales team.
- Communication: Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
