JOB TITLE: Director, Head of Core Origination & Structuring – Real Estate

LOCATION: London / Manchester / Birmingham

SALARY: Competitive package

HOURS: Full time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least three days per week, or 60% of our time, at our London office / out with clients.

We're looking for a high-impact Director to establish and lead a newly created team focused on delivering strategic financing solutions across the commercial real estate market. Working closely with Relationship Directors, you'll combine origination, structuring and credit expertise to support a broad range of clients across investment and development markets, helping them achieve their ambitions whilst balancing client outcomes, risk and returns.

As the leader of this capability, you'll set strategic direction, drive debt financing opportunities and build a high-performing team. Working across a diverse range of real estate asset classes, you'll develop innovative solutions that support client ambitions whilst balancing growth, risk, profitability and decarbonisation priorities.

You'll nurture senior relationships, champion the One Lloyds franchise in the market and play a key role in shaping the future of our Real Estate business. It's an opportunity to build and lead a growing capability, influence strategic client outcomes and deliver complex financing solutions that support business growth and the built environment of tomorrow.

This is an SMCR-certified role. As part of the role, you'll be required to complete the necessary training and achieve accreditation.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leadership & Team Development: Establish and lead a high-performing Core Origination & Structuring team, setting strategic direction, embedding a strong risk and performance culture, and supporting the development of colleagues whilst contributing to the broader Real Estate & Housing agenda.
  • Origination & Client Growth: Drive origination activity across the core commercial real estate market, collaborating with Relationship Directors to uncover opportunities, develop prospect pipelines, win new business and deliver tailored financing solutions for new and existing clients.
  • Client Relationships, Structuring & Credit Leadership: Build and strengthen senior client relationships across a broad range of real estate clients, providing credit and structuring expertise to deliver funding solutions that balance client needs, risk and return.
  • Transaction Execution & Risk Management: Oversee transactions from initial opportunity through to completion, including structuring, financial analysis, due diligence and negotiation of commercial terms, ensuring effective risk management and high-quality credit, pricing and documentation standards.
  • Collaborative Product Delivery: Partner with Coverage, Specialist Origination * Structuring, Asset Management, Capital Markets and product teams to deliver tailored financing solutions, maximise broader Group capabilities and ensure strong governance throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Commercial, Regulatory & ESG Stewardship: Support delivery of business plans and sustainable growth, whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and helping clients progress their ESG and Net Zero ambitions.

What You’ll Need

  • Real Estate Market Insight: Significant experience (typically gained over 10+ years) within the UK Real Estate sector, including developer, investor and living-sector markets. Strong understanding of market trends, credit risk, debt structuring, legislation and government influence.
  • Senior-Level Client Relationship Skills: Significant experience (typically gained over 10+ years) managing and growing senior client relationships, with the ability to influence at C-Suite level across FTSE-listed and large privately owned businesses. Established network and a strong track record of originating and growing business opportunities.
  • Leadership in Financial Services: Experience within Corporate and Institutional Banking or a comparable financial services environment, including leadership of people and teams.
  • Strategic, Credit & Structuring Expertise: Strong credit assessment and debt structuring experience, with the ability to develop commercially attractive solutions that balance risk, return and client outcomes.
  • Influential Communicator & Collaborator: Excellent communication and customer leadership skills, with the ability to influence and work effectively across teams.
  • Regulatory & ESG Awareness: Knowledge of MiFID, Financial Promotions and FCA requirements and a passion for helping clients progress toward Net Zero.
