About the Role
The Director of Human Resources is a vital part of ADF International’s Senior Leadership Team. Based in London and reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources at ADF, this role will focus on shaping all people strategies, policies, and programs across the organisation.
This is a strategic, hands-on leadership position responsible for:

- Empowering employees to contribute to ADF International’s global mission

Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Partner with the VP of Human Resources to develop and executable shared services people strategy, aligning with ADFI’s mission, values, and long-term goals
- Drive organisational design and workforce planning across global offices

Team Leadership & Supervision
- Lead and develop a small HR team (HR Manager and HR Coordinator) by fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture
- Set objectives and performance expectations through regular one-to-ones and formal reviews to support career progression
- Allocate workflow, model ADF International’s values, and serve as an escalation point for complex/sensitive HR matters
Employee Relations & Culture
- Act as the primary contact for employee relations, providing fair, legally compliant guidance and managing sensitive matters with discretion and pastoral care
- Champion a mission-rooted culture and lead wellbeing, resilience, and work-life integration programmes for a globally dispersed team
Performance & Development
- Collaborate with Talent Development leaders to manage a performance framework that ensures excellence, accountability, and growth
- Identify learning needs and partner with managers on training, succession planning, and high-potential staff retention
Collaboration with Centers of Excellence
- Work closely with Talent Acquisition and Total Rewards Centre of Excellence teams
- Maintain HR records and HRIS, preparing reports on headcount, turnover, engagement, and other key metrics

International HR Coordination
- Provide HR support and policy guidance for international offices, adapting global frameworks to local legal and cultural contexts
- Lead international HR projects and initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
- Fluent in English
- Ability to live and work in London, UK, with support for up to 10% annual international travel
- BA/BSc qualification in Human Resources Management or a related field
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role
- Experience as a strategic HR business partner for senior leadership in a complex, multi-site organisation
- Knowledge of UK employment law
- Track record in designing and implementing HR strategies, policies, and culture initiatives
- Ability to handle employee relations, including complex matter resolution with professionalism and fairness
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPD Level 7 qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience with European and international employment frameworks
Valid work permit or UK citizenship required.
