HVACR Growth Strategy Lead – Global Products & Solutions

We’re supporting the HVACR Business within Johnson Controls’ Global Products and Solutions organization. Your mission will be to shape Johnson Controls' growth strategy by collaborating closely with the Global Enterprise Strategy team and Business Unit leadership. This role will involve identifying emerging technologies, defining market entry strategies, and leading strategic initiatives, including M&A.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Market Intelligence

    • Conduct comprehensive market analysis on infrastructure trends, technology shifts, and competitive dynamics to inform strategic priorities.
    • Identify the highest-value growth opportunities for the business.
  • Support Portfolio & Product Strategy

    • Partner with business units and innovation teams to define strategic roadmaps.
    • Prioritise investments and align product development with customer needs.
  • Drive M&A & Partnership Roadmap

    • Support the sourcing and evaluation of acquisition targets and strategic partnerships.
    • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and strategic fit assessments to align with corporate development priorities.
  • Strategic Planning & Execution

    • Lead the development of a long-term strategic plan and refine existing initiatives.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to define new strategic initiatives with clear execution roadmaps.
    • Ensure alignment of initiatives with governing business targets (scope, budget, schedule, resources).

  • Program Management & Stakeholder Engagement

    • Develop and implement global PMO structures as needed.
    • Communicate progress to Board of Directors and leadership reviews.
    • Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders (executives, clients, partners) to manage expectations effectively.
  • Mentorship

    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior program managers and team members.
    • Foster professional development and enhance program management skills.

What We Look For

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of strategic development experience, including 2-3+ years at a top-tier strategy consulting firm.
  • Experience in complex, matrixed organisations in a strategy consulting environment.
  • Proven ability to deliver tangible results in program/project settings, especially influencing stakeholders outside formal reporting lines.
  • Strong teamwork, project management, and business acumen.
  • Self-motivated ability to work independently and navigate fast-paced, analytically rigorous environments.
  • Excellent English communication skills, with a focus on content development over process facilitation.
  • Open-minded, intellectually curious, and adaptable to dynamic contexts.

Preferred

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
  • Background in management consulting.
  • Experience in the Building Technologies line of business.
