Director (Insight Business Unit)
In a Nutshell
Yonder is the Insight and Transformation Company. Our purpose is to deliver confidence to clients in decisions that matter, through unifying the breadth of our capabilities across the business. This includes our insight practice: as our clients continue to face challenging operating contexts, constrained budgets, and constant technological change, our mission is to provide complete decision intelligence for absolute conviction.
We support our clients right throughout the decision-making process by combining high-quality data, elite data science, and high-value insight, enhanced by cutting-edge technology to empower human traits.
We’re looking for an experienced, strategically and commercially minded Director with exceptional mixed-methodology research skills, to work with high-profile public and private sector clients aligned to our core Insight capabilities: audience understanding, brand and marketing, product development/innovation, public and social insight, corporate affairs, and politics. You’ll also gain exposure to broader Yonder projects, including brand strategy and creative development.
If you’re an experienced Research Director with a proven track record of building strong client relationships, delivering strategically focused work to the highest standard, and growing new business, we’d love to hear from you.
Your Skills & Experience
You must have:
- Hands-on experience as an insight specialist in research consultancy or on the client-side, with confidence in using research to inform strategic decision-making and help clients make better choices.
- Experience developing and leading strategic client relationships, showing a broad range of professional interests and curiosity about economic, social, and political trends.
- Outstanding storytelling skills (written and verbal) with attention to detail.
- Leading high-profile client relationships in a client-facing role requiring high-quality strategic thinking.
- A commercial track record in new business development with existing and new clients.
- Ability to apply research creatively to business challenges while demonstrating initiative to grow expertise.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
