About the Role
The Director of International Sales Engineering is a highly technical strategic leader who will oversee our entire Sales Engineering (SE) organization across EMEA, APAC, and Japan.
This role requires a deep understanding of the complex nuances of diverse international markets. This strategic leader will:
- Navigate shifting regional dynamics
- Address complex data residency requirements
- Manage product localization needs
- Address the varying nuances of AI adoption across different geographies
You will partner in lockstep with our International Sales Leadership to:
- Drive enterprise opportunities
- Grow our expanding Channel organization
- Lead technical presales strategy
- Cultivate a world-class International SE organization
You will be a trusted and strategic advisor internally to product and executive teams, and externally to our largest enterprise customers.
Your Responsibilities

Build a World-Class Team:
- Attract, retain, and mentor top-tier Sales Engineering talent across EMEA, APAC, and Japan
- Create a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and high performance

Strategic Deal Execution:
- Partner with International Sales Leadership to drive revenue
- Assess deep, large-scale enterprise deals, develop account strategy, and define technical win criteria
- Align SE resources for operational scalability

Agentic AI Strategy:
- Understand and articulate enterprise AI adoption patterns across regions
- Develop an Agentic AI International GTM (Go-To-Market) Strategy while navigating the international AI regulatory landscape confidently

Executive Engagement:
- Engage with CIOs, CTOs, and IT Directors at an executive level
- Build trust through expertise and strategic counsel

Navigate International Complexity:
- Serve as the internal expert on data residency, compliance laws, (e.g., GDPR), localization requirements, and impacts of regulatory/cultural variables on AI adoption

Drive Channel Expansion:
- Enablement and growth of international Channel organization
- Ensure partners are technically equipped to position our UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service), CCaaS (Contact Centre as a Service), and Agentic AI solutions productively

Product Vision and Market Intelligence:
- Voice of the international market, analyzing data and global competitive landscape
- Partnering with Product and Engineering to ensure our roadmap reflects international needs

Foster Innovation:
- Increase the effectiveness of global teams through recognizing opportunities for innovation
- Proactively implementing systems and scalable processes amidst different time zones and cultures

Be a Trusted Advisor:
- Establish enduring relationships with customers from multinational organizations
- Understand their unique business challenges and align them with Dialpad’s Agentic AI and communications portfolio
Skills and Experience

Education:
- BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
-
Experience:
- Minimum 12 years of customer-facing experience working as:
- Solution Architect
- Sales Engineer
- Implementation Engineer
- Solutions Consultant, or similar roles
- Minimum 8 years of people management experience
- Proven track record of leading in International Markets
- Minimum 12 years of customer-facing experience working as:

Technical Proficiency:
- Hands-on experience with agentic AI, conversational AI, or AI-powered business applications
- Capability to translate business outcomes and value, and engage credibly with stakeholders
