The Role

The Director of International Sales Engineering is a highly technical strategic leader who will oversee our entire Sales Engineering (SE) organization across EMEA, APAC, and Japan. This role requires a deep understanding of the complex nuances of diverse international markets. This leader will navigate:

  • Shifting regional dynamics
  • Complex data residency requirements
  • Product localization needs
  • Varying AI adoption patterns across geographies
  • Regional regulatory landscapes

You will partner closely with International Sales Leadership to: ✔ Drive enterprise opportunities ✔ Grow our expanding Channel organization ✔ Lead technical presales strategy ✔ Cultivate a world-class International SE organization

You will be a trusted, strategic advisor both internally (to Product and Executive teams) and externally (to our largest enterprise customers).

What You’ll Do

  • Build a World-Class Team

    • Attract, retain, and mentor top-tier Sales Engineering talent across EMEA, APAC, and Japan
    • Foster a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and high performance
  • Strategic Deal Execution

    • Partner with International Sales Leadership to drive revenue
    • Dive deep into complex, large-scale enterprise deals
      • Develop account strategy
      • Define technical win criteria
      • Align SE resources for scalability
  • Agentic AI Strategy

    • Understand and articulate enterprise AI adoption patterns across regions
    • Navigate the international AI regulatory landscape confidently
    • Develop the Agentic AI International GTM strategy
  • Executive Engagement

    • Lead executive-level technical engagements with:
      • CIOs, CTOs, and IT Directors
    • Build trust through expertise and strategic counsel
  • Navigate International Complexity

    • Serve as the internal expert on:
      • Regional data residency and compliance laws (e.g., GDPR)
      • Localization requirements
      • Regulatory and cultural impacts on AI adoption in different markets
  • Drive Channel Expansion

    • Play a critical role in enabling and growing our international Channel organization
    • Ensure partners are technically equipped to position:
      • UCaaS, CCaaS, and Agentic AI solutions effectively
  • Product Vision and Market Intelligence

    • Be the voice of the international market
    • Analyze data and understand the global competitive landscape intimately
    • Partner with Product & Engineering to ensure the roadmap reflects international needs
  • Foster Innovation

    • Recognize opportunities for innovation across international teams
    • Proactively implement new systems and scalable processes across time zones and cultures
  • Be a Trusted Advisor

    • Build deep, enduring relationships with new and existing multinational customers
    • Excel at understanding unique business challenges and mapping them to Agentic AI and communications portfolio

Skills & Experience You’ll Bring

  • Education: BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Customer-Facing Experience: Minimum 12 years in roles such as:
    • Solution Architect
    • Sales Engineer
    • Implementation Engineer
    • Solutions Consultant
    • Similar leadership-focused technical sales roles
  • People Management: Minimum 8 years of experience in supervisory or leadership roles
  • International Proven Track Record:
    • Proven ability to lead in global markets (e.g., EMEA, APAC, LATAM, Japan)
  • Technical Deep Dive:
    • Hands-on experience with agentic AI, conversational AI, or AI-powered business applications
    • Ability to translate business outcomes and engage credibly with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Soft Skills:
    • Ability to work independently while prioritizing effectively and balancing multiple work streams
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Determination and persistence in pursuit of goals
    • Strong work ethic, initiative, and creativity
    • High emotional intelligence, ability to inspire and develop direct reports
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on:
      • Rapport-building
      • Active listening
      • Strategic questioning
  • Exec Presence:
    • Experience presenting and building relationships from C-Suite to IT Operations
