Job Description
Director, Marketing
We are pleased to share that Gilead’s Stockley Park and Holborn offices are planning to come together at a new London headquarters at 1 Triton Square, NW1, from approximately Q2 2027. Applicants should consider this planned location change when applying for this role.
Gilead operates a flexible working policy, offering a balanced approach with two days of remote working and three days working onsite.
The Director, Marketing will play a critical role in driving priorities across Global Patient Solutions (GPS), combining lenacapavir for prevention launch execution, portfolio life cycle management and AI transformation. This role will balance Lenacapavir for PrEP responsibilities with broader portfolio strategy operational and strategic excellence and AI transformation through AI-driven process optimisation, while also leading high-impact strategic projects.
The position will require strong cross-functional collaboration across Commercial, Value & Access, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Government Affairs, Public Affairs, Supply, PDM and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with global strategic priorities and maximising patient impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Lenacapavir for PrEP Leadership
- Shape the development and execution of the global marketing and access strategy for Lenacapavir for PrEP, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and regional needs
- Drive launch planning and market development in priority geographies, including LLMIC and emerging markets, as required
- Orchestrate and align cross-functional teams (Commercial, Access, Medical, External Affairs) to ensure coordinated execution and strong external engagement
- Drive strategic stakeholder alignment with governments, global health organisations, and partners to advance access objectives at scale
- Be accountable post-launch monitoring and performance tracking frameworks, including patient reach, access metrics, and impact evaluation

Portfolio life-cycle management
- Enterprise Portfolio & Alignment: drive the definition and execution of a coherent portfolio strategy aligned with the GCSO, Established Products and Growth Products Teams and access priorities, ensuring balance between growth and established assets.
- End-to-End Lifecycle Management: drive assets across all stages—from opportunity identification to exit—driving disciplined stage-gate decisions (grow, maintain, stop) to maximise access where there is unmet needs and value closely collaborating with South Africa and Distributors Markets.
- Portfolio Optimisation & Performance Management: Continuously optimise in-market assets through pricing, channel strategy, cost efficiency, supply and KPI-driven performance tracking, with corrective actions where needed, always in close collaboration with relative stakeholders.
- Strategic Foresight & Portfolio Evolution: Identify risks, gaps, and external trends to proactively rebalance the portfolio—accelerating high-value opportunities while managing brands lifecycle.

AI Transformation
- Lead AI-driven transformation: Execute enterprise-wide AI strategy for process mapping, optimisation, and simplification to improve efficiency, scalability, and cross-functional execution with entrepreneurial approach.
- Drive innovation across marketing: Identify and implement AI and digital use cases to enhance marketing, launch, and operational performance.
- Coordinate GPS delivery with AI ICR GPS Lead: Act as the accountable business owner, translating priorities into scalable AI solutions, with clear milestones, governance, and compliance alignment.
- Scale adoption across GPS in alignment with ICR GPS AI Lead: Partner with the relevant functions at GPS, regional or global level to deploy AI capabilities within GPS, including rollout plans, training, playbooks, and governance frameworks.
- Build organisational capability: Enable adoption of new tools and ways of working through structured training, feedback loops, and continuous improvement.
- Define and deliver measurable impact: Own KPIs and outcomes, including cycle time reduction, content reuse, and cost efficiency across marketing activities.

- Lead high-impact, enterprise-level strategic projects aligned with GPS priorities and evolving business needs
- Provide senior leadership support to emerging priorities across the organisation, enabling agility and responsiveness

- Extensive experience in strategic marketing, portfolio management, or commercial strategy within pharma/biotech
- Proven track record in launch excellence and cross-functional project leadership
- Strong ability to operate in complex, global, matrixed environments, driving alignment across diverse stakeholders
- Experience in emerging markets and access-driven environments (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and digital tools to improve processes and decision-making
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with strong executive communication capability
