Chief Academic Architect at 2 Hour Learning
You have articulated a transformative academic vision and delivered on it. Your leadership has been direct and visible, not indirect or behind closed doors. In learning science, you are not a casual observer—you have created tangible systems, generated measurable results, and earned credibility to present that work publicly. If this describes your track record, 2 Hour Learning is seeking its chief academic architect.
2 Hour Learning has developed a system enabling students to learn at twice the rate in two hours per day. The model relies on AI-driven tutoring, mastery-based learning pathways, and a fundamental redesign of traditional classroom frameworks. Outcomes have been consistently strong. We now need a leader to harmonize implementation across varied school environments, elevate academic leadership standards, and represent this rigorous, science-backed approach on a global stage.
This position is not theoretical. It is a directive leadership role. You will control academic strategy in execution, establish explicit performance standards, surface operational shortfalls, and develop high-performing teams to achieve concrete results. You will operationalize our learning science foundation and advocate for this model worldwide.
What You Will Be Doing
- Designing academic frameworks that convert learning science principles into actionable direction for curriculum development, student motivation architecture, and application design.
- Conducting academic performance reviews with Heads of Academics to confirm school teams maintain alignment, accountability, and result delivery.
- Integrating data analysis, stakeholder interviews, and direct observation to produce academic ecosystem assessments that identify critical barriers to accelerated learning and recommend targeted solutions.
- Ensuring strategic coherence through planning processes, continuous feedback mechanisms, and milestone monitoring to sustain focus on learning objectives.
- Serving as the principal representative of 2 Hour Learning in high-stakes forums, including keynote presentations and engagements with Ministries of Education, to influence systemic reform in global education thinking.

- Working on standalone curriculum initiatives that lack broader systemic impact.
- Producing theoretical research disconnected from student outcomes or operational execution.
- Transferring accountability for performance to middle management or external consultants.
- Depending on institutional credibility or academic theory alone to influence skeptical audiences.
Director Of Academic Excellence Key Responsibilities
- Expand and strengthen 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by standardizing execution across school sites, raising leadership expectations, and serving as the authoritative public advocate for a movement rooted in rigorous science and demonstrated results.
Basic Requirements
- Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
- At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions
- Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards
- Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc.
- Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment)
- Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
