About Us
dmg media is home to some of the UK’s most recognised brands, from the Daily Mail and Metro to New Scientist and dmg New Media. Our Customer team is responsible for digital subscriptions, marketing, and partnerships. If there is a scale-up element to dmg media, it is this team.
We have aggressive goals and a big growth story to go on. This role is part of that journey, with a target of reaching 1 million digital subscribers by FY2028.
About the Role
This role sits within our Acquisition team, which is responsible for bringing new subscribers to DailyMail+, one of the world's fastest growing new subscriptions. You will own the day-to-day execution of paid search and paid social campaigns, working as part of a pod focused on driving new subscriber growth.
We are building this team now and moving quickly. You will have real ownership from day one, not just execution support, and the opportunity to shape how we work as the function grows. Media industry experience is not required. What matters is that you have genuine expertise in paid channels and the drive to deliver results in a fast-moving environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and optimise paid search and paid social campaigns with a focus on subscriber acquisition for the Daily Mail and Daily Mail+
- Own campaign performance end to end, from brief and creative development through to budget management, targeting, and ongoing optimisation
- Run a pipeline of tests across channels, creatives, and audiences, using data to make clear calls on what to scale and what to cut
- Monitor acquisition metrics closely and report on performance in a way that drives decisions, not just documents activity
- Work closely with the Customer Success team to ensure paid acquisition activity connects to a joined-up subscriber journey
- Collaborate with Product and Editorial to align campaign messaging with the subscriber value proposition
- Stay sharp on platform developments across Google, Meta, and emerging paid channels, and bring new opportunities to the team

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
