Director of AI enablement

Tasks and responsibilities: Purpose of the Role To lead the strategic enablement and integration of Artificial Intelligence across Bleckmann’s business units, driving innovation, operational efficiency, sales effectiveness and client-centric solutions. The AI Enablement Director will act as a catalyst for transformation, bringing knowledge into Bleckmann and ensuring AI capabilities are embedded into core processes, decision-making frameworks, and digital products. AI Strategy & Roadmap Define and execute Bleckmann’s AI enablement strategy aligned with business goals (business growth, client retention, operational excellence and automation). Identify high-impact use cases across all functions and departments. Translate the use cases into an implementation roadmap Follow up on the realization of the business cases (project Opex and Capex budgets, realization of savings, …) Cross-Functional Enablement Partner with IT, Data, Operations, Business development and Client Solutions teams to embed AI into workflows. Support departments in identifying and prioritising AI opportunities, including predictive analytics, intelligent automation, generative AI and AI agents. Governance & Ethics Establish AI governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with data privacy, security, and ethical standards. Collaborate with Legal and Risk teams and CISO to assess and mitigate AI-related risks. Capability and Enthusiasm Building Lead internal training and awareness programs to foster AI literacy. Develop toolkits, playbooks, and best practices for AI adoption. Ensure the organization is eager to adopt AI as support, e.g. by building an AI community, organizing AI bootcamps, … Support the organization with managing change where needed Innovation & Vendor Management Evaluate and onboard AI platforms, tools, and partners (in collaboration with Procurement, IT, …) Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends to inform strategic decisions. Performance & Impact Define KPIs to measure AI adoption, ROI, and business impact. Report progress to senior leadership and contribute to transformation steering committees. Profile: Required Experience & Qualifications Proven Track Record: This is a senior leadership role requiring demonstrated success in leading AI enablement and transformation programmes. The ideal candidate has done this before, including the necessary change management — with tangible results in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Strategic & Operational Expertise: Ability to translate AI strategy into operational execution across diverse business functions. Stakeholder Leadership: Strong influencing skills across senior leadership, technical teams, and operational stakeholders. Industry Knowledge: Experience in logistics, supply chain, or operational transformation is highly desirable. Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of AI technologies, data platforms, and automation tools. But is also able to explain to ‘non-technical’ employees and managers.
