Director – Analog IC Design

Location: Bristol or Stansted, UK (Hybrid – Office Monday to Thursday)
Job Type: Permanent

About the company

Our client is a globally recognised semiconductor company developing high-performance analogue and mixed-signal integrated circuits for optical communications and high-speed connectivity applications.

Its UK engineering centre is regarded as a centre of excellence for Analog and Mixed-Signal IC Design, delivering industry-leading laser drivers, transimpedance amplifiers (TIAs) and integrated optical transceiver solutions that enable fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks and hyperscale data centre infrastructure across the globe.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, technically driven organisation where engineering excellence is at the heart of product development. Backed by the resources of a global semiconductor business, you'll have the opportunity to influence technology, products and engineering strategy while working alongside some of the industry's leading Analog IC Design engineers.

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Analog IC Design to lead its IC Design Engineering organisation based in Bristol, with responsibility extending across engineering teams in Europe and North America.

Reporting directly to the VP of Design Engineering, you will lead complex New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes from concept through to production while developing and mentoring engineering managers, technical leaders and design engineers.

This is a highly visible leadership position combining technical authority, organisational leadership and strategic influence. You will play a key role in shaping engineering strategy, defining future technology roadmaps and supporting the continued growth of the engineering organisation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
