Director of Category Marketing - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (Nottingham)

Location: Nottingham Support Office Type: Fixed Term Contract (12 months)

As the Director of Category Marketing, you will drive transformative strategies to elevate the Boots brand, deepen customer engagement, and align marketing efforts with wider business goals across the UK and Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end development and execution of category marketing strategies, ensuring they drive growth, customer loyalty, and brand reinforcement.
  • Oversee a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Leverage market intelligence, customer insights, and data to inform strategic decisions and optimise marketing investments.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to ensure marketing activities align with commercial objectives.
  • Measure and report on marketing campaign performance, using insights to continuously refine tactics for maximum impact.

What You’ll Need

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior marketing role, specialising in retail environments.
  • Strong leadership track record—expertise in developing, motivating, and scaling teams to drive outstanding results.
  • Breaker of multi-channel marketing: hands-on experience across digital (performance), print, advertising, content, in-store, social media, and influencer campaigns.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-impact marketing campaigns that align KPIs with business objectives.
  • Advanced analytical skills, with a knack for translating data into actionable strategies.
  • Sharp commercial instinct—ability to optimise campaign ROI, drive revenue growth, and scale customer acquisition.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement—persuasive communications at every level of the business.

Nice-to-Have (But Not Essential)

  • Experience in leading marketing transformations, with a history of rolling out scaleable, innovative initiatives that boost brand performance and revenue.
