About IPS Grow

One of our flagship initiatives is IPS Grow, which supports the expansion of Individual Placement and Support (IPS) employment services across England. IPS is an evidence-based approach helping people with:

  • Severe mental illness
  • Addiction
  • Other health-related challenges

to secure and sustain competitive employment through tailored support.

Scope of IPS Grow

IPS Grow partners with:

  • Commissioners
  • Healthcare providers
  • Delivery organisations

to:

  • Expand high-quality IPS services
  • Improve quality and learning across the system
  • Ensure data and evidence behind IPS continues to prove impact

About the Role

As IPS Grow evolves from a fast-growing initiative to a mature organisation with increasing reach and influence, Social Finance is seeking a Director of Central Operations to join the IPS Grow and Social Finance Senior Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership across IPS Grow’s operational infrastructure, ensuring:
    • Development and maintenance of systems, processes, and capabilities
    • Delivering impact at scale
  • Strengthen financial oversight, resource planning, and risk management
  • Support the development of IPS Grow’s data and digital capability
  • Shape organisational structures and culture to support sustainable growth

Role Requirements

IPS Grow is looking for a senior operational leader with:

  • Experience in non-profit or publicly funded sectors, preferably with a proven track record in organisational scaling
  • Exceptional strategic judgement and financial literacy
  • Ability to build effective operational frameworks in complex environments
  • Collaborative and interactive leadership style
  • Experience fostering a "one team" culture across distributed teams

Relationships & Culture

As a Director of Central Operations, you will be:

  • A collaborative partner across IPS Grow and wider Social Finance
  • Building trust across the teams to resolve operational challenges
