Director of Communications & Brand London | Hybrid Working (3 days in office) £75,000 - £85,000 + Benefits
We’re partnering with a highly regarded independent culture, communications and brand agency to recruit a Director of Communications & Brand.
About the Role
This is a newly created leadership role within an ambitious and fast-growing business that serves some of the most exciting consumer, lifestyle and culture-led brands. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping communications strategy, brand positioning, earned media and campaign narratives across a portfolio of clients, while helping to elevate the agency’s strategic offering as it continues to grow.
This role sits at the intersection of communications, brand strategy, culture, and creativity.
Your Responsibilities
You’ll act as a senior strategic advisor to clients, offering expertise in how brands show up in culture, their core values, and audience connection through compelling storytelling and campaign strategies.
In collaboration with creative, social, influencer, partnerships, and client services teams, you’ll ensure campaigns are:
- Strategically robust
- Culturally relevant
- Commercially impactful
Key Duties
- Communications & Brand Strategy
- Develop integrated communications and brand strategies.
- Advise clients on positioning, messaging, reputation, and audience engagement.
- Translate business objectives into narratives that drive meaningful outcomes.

Brand Positioning & Narrative Development
- Create well-articulated brand stories and messaging frameworks.
- Ensure campaigns reflect audience insight and cultural relevance.
- Help clients build long-term brand relevance.

PR, Earned Media & Reputation
- Lead earned media strategy for key clients.
- Identify stories, media opportunities, and cultural moments.
- Provide senior guidance on reputation management and stakeholder communications.
- Support clients during high-profile or sensitive communications challenges.

Leadership & Team Development
- Coach and mentor communications and PR talent.
- Foster a high-performance culture of collaboration, curiosity, and excellence.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and professional development.
- Drive best practices across communications and branding.

Client & Commercial Leadership
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Strengthen business development through pitches and client partnerships.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to deliver outstanding service.
About You
The ideal candidate is an experienced communications professional with a strong strategic foundation and passion for culture, brands, and storytelling.

Key Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in communications, PR, brand strategy, or integrated marketing agencies.
- Proven ability to advise senior clients and stakeholders.
- Experience developing strategies for consumer-facing, lifestyle, or culture-led brands.
- Deep knowledge of earned media, reputation, brand positioning, and campaign planning.
- Outstanding storytelling, writing, and presentation skills.
- Strong leadership track record, including team management.
- Commercial acumen and leadership expertise.
- Ability to challenge constructively and inspire those around you.
Preferred experience: hospitality, lifestyle, entertainment, beauty, fashion, retail, or consumer industries.
