Job Summary
Holy Family Catholic School and St. Dominic Savio Catholic High School are seeking a Director of Communications to serve both school campuses. The role focuses on enhancing the schools’ public image within the Catholic community and broader public by overseeing a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program. Decision-making responsibilities fall under school policies, reporting to the President, with primary engagement across admissions, advancement, and key staff.
Ministerial Character
Positions in this role are designed to extend the ministry of the school leadership, guiding nell the vision of Catholic education. Employees engaged in this position collaborate with leadership to fulfill the Church’s mission through the principles of trust, accountability, and Gospel values.
Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Uphold the philosophy of Catholic education and school mission in all communications efforts.
- Model Gospel values, adhering to Catholic Church teachings as an example for staff, students, and the broader community.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding school and diocesan matters.
- Develop, implement, and measure marketing and PR strategies, including publications, media outreach, social media, and digital content.
- Ensure brand consistency in messaging, logo usage, and marketing collateral.
- Oversee production of semi-annual magazines (Sentinel for Holy Family, Savio Now forDominic Savio) and the annual report.
- Oversee an advertising schedule for local media and parish bulletins.
- Act as the Point of Contact for media relations.
- Coordinate efforts with Parish Liaisons, volunteer recruitment, parish outreach, and event promotional strategies (including Catholic Schools Week and special events).
- Create and maintain a photo library for school communications, ensuring digital access across all platforms.
- Sustain up-to-date websites, news feeds, and promotional materials for both schools.
- Submit content to Catholic Spirit newspaper for feature coverage.
- Supervise a Part-time Communications/Marketing Coordinator.
- Attend school events to gather media-ready materials and promote engagement.
- Enforce staff development guidelines as set by the Diocese.
- Demonstrate professionalism, timeliness, and collaborative accountability.
- Align communication efforts with budgetary and strategic goals, reporting progress regularly.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Profound understanding of Catholic teaching.
- Extensive experience in marketing, communications, PR, or non-profit development.
- Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and photographic management tools.
- Strong ability to write clearly, communicate effectively verbally, and design compelling materials.
- Skill in managing multiple priorities and long-term planning.
- Strength in critical thinking and organization, with at-will adaptability.
- Comfort working with diverse stakeholders and adapting to an evolving environment.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, PR, or a related field (preferably in a non-profit or faith-based setting).
Additional Requirements
- Complete an Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) Application within the first week of employment.
- Participate in an EIM Basic Abuse Prevention Training workshop within 60 days of submission.
- Maintain ongoing EIM compliance throughout employment.
