Job Title: Director of Construction & Procurement Law Location: London Working Pattern: Hybrid Contract Type: Permanent

Our Construction & Procurement team excels in advice and representation for construction disputes and procurement law. We assist:

  • Main contractors & sub-contractors
  • Public bodies & private sector clients

in all aspects of construction & engineering contracts, claims, and disputes. Additionally, we provide:

  • Public sector procurement services, including legally sound and cost-effective procurement strategies for public bodies.
  • Support to suppliers in successful tendering.
  • Challenges to unlawful procurement processes.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Director, you will:

  • Lead and manage the construction and procurement law team in London, driving high performance and excellence.
  • Overseer and conduct complex construction and procurement litigation, dispute resolution, and advisory work.
  • Drive business development initiatives to expand the firm’s impact within the industry.
  • Contribute strategic input to firm-wide planning.
  • Ensure delivery of high-quality legal work aligned with client needs and industry best practice.

Key Areas of Focus:

  • Contentious and non-contentious construction or procurement law matters.
  • Construction dispute management, including:
    • Mediation, conciliation, arbitration, adjudications
    • Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) & court proceedings
  • Contract drafting, negotiation, and advice
  • Dispute avoidance & contract management
  • Claims analysis & negotiation

Requirements

  • 10+ years’ post-qualification experience with a strong background in construction and procurement law.
  • Proven litigation experience, particularly managing and resolving high-stakes disputes.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including team development, motivation, and management.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a track record of building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive, forward-thinking approach, committed to excellence.
