NHS Resolution is seeking an exceptional senior leader to join us as Director of Corporate Affairs
This significant executive role is central to how we protect our reputation, strengthen corporate governance and assurance, shape strategic planning and build effective engagement across the health and justice systems.
NHS Resolution provides expertise to the NHS on resolving concerns fairly, sharing learning for improvement and preserving resources for patient care. The Director of Corporate Affairs will help us deliver this purpose by ensuring that governance, communications, risk, strategy and assurance arrangements are joined up, effective and focused on impact.
Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will lead the Corporate Affairs directorate, bringing together policy, strategy and communications, corporate governance, and knowledge and information management. You will work closely with the Chair, Board, Senior Management Team and external partners, providing trusted advice, constructive challenge and clear leadership on complex, sensitive and high-profile matters.
What You'll Be Doing
As Director of Corporate Affairs, you will provide strategic leadership across communications and stakeholder engagement, corporate strategy, planning, performance and risk, corporate governance, board effectiveness and assurance, and knowledge and information management. You will ensure the organisation’s expertise is translated into learning, insight and influence, and that corporate governance and assurance support effective decision-making and delivery.
This role is critical to ensuring that the Board and its Committees receive effective support and assurance; that organisational strategy is translated into clear business plans, measurable outcomes and delivery priorities; and that performance, risk and assurance frameworks operate effectively. You will also play a central role in protecting and enhancing NHS Resolution’s reputation, ensuring internal and external communications support organisational objectives, and developing stakeholder relationships that maximise our influence, impact and contribution across the health and justice systems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
