Director of Data Governance
Shape the Future of Data. Build Trust. Create Impact.
Data is at the Heart of Everything We Do
We're looking for an exceptional Director of Data Governance to help transform the way data is managed, trusted, and leveraged across our organisation.
This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a modern data governance capability from the ground up while influencing how data powers products, analytics, AI innovation, and commercial decision-making across a global business.
You'll work at the intersection of data, technology, product, and commercial teams, ensuring that data is managed as a strategic asset with clear ownership, high quality standards, and strong governance practices.
The Opportunity
As Director of Data Governance, you'll partner closely with the CDO and senior leaders across Product, Technology, Price Reporting Agency (PRA), and the wider organisation to develop and embed a scalable governance framework.
This is not a role focused on control for control's sake. Instead, you'll create practical, business-friendly governance that enables innovation, supports growth, improves trust in data, and helps the organisation make better decisions.
You'll establish a federated governance model that empowers teams to take ownership of their data while maintaining consistent standards across the business.
What You'll Be Doing
Strategic Leadership
- Define and implement the organisation's data governance strategy and operating model.
- Assess current governance practices and identify opportunities to improve ownership, quality, consistency, and accountability.
- Develop a scalable framework that supports both current business needs and future growth.
Governance & Data Management
- Establish and maintain a federated governance model across Product, Technology, and PRA teams.
- Define responsibilities for data owners and data stewards.
- Create enterprise-wide governance standards and best practices.
- Establish a cross-functional Data Governance Forum to drive decision-making and accountability.
Data Quality & Trust
- Define data quality standards across critical business domains.
- Implement monitoring, reporting, and governance controls to improve data confidence and usability.
- Develop approaches to measure and continuously improve data quality.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
