Director of Development – Classics & Essentials, DACH & Poland

The successful candidate must be based within Europe and possess the legal right to work in either the United Kingdom or the European Union.

Your Role

The Director of Development – Classics & Essentials, DACH & Poland will play an active role in ensuring the effective implementation of Hyatt’s scale-driven growth strategy in the region with brands such as Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Place and Me & All Hotels as well as support the EAME Development Team in their day-to-day activities of securing new brand representation for Hyatt, primarily by management and franchise agreements.

Your Responsibilities

  • Generate interest in Hyatt’s brands and convert opportunities into franchise and management agreements for both existing and new-build hotels.
  • Identify, generate, and close development opportunities aligned with Hyatt’s long-term growth strategy through detailed market analysis, lead qualification, hotel and site evaluations, strategic brand positioning recommendations, and preliminary refurbishment guidance to align properties with Hyatt brand standards.
  • Negotiate term sheets and collaborate with internal legal teams on definitive agreement negotiations and execution.
  • Represent the EAME Development team at industry conferences, networking events, and other business development functions.
  • Proactively identify and engage prospective hotel owners, operators, developers, and investment partners.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Legal, Brands, Feasibility, Design Services, and FORG (where applicable), to ensure alignment on development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, prospective deals, and key contacts through Salesforce and other internal systems.
  • Contribute to forecasting efforts related to net rooms growth across the region.
  • Support long-term pipeline retention through proactive owner engagement and stakeholder relationship management.
  • Partner with the Vice President of Development – Luxury & Lifestyle on strategic, high-impact growth opportunities as needed.

Your Qualifications & Experience

  • Fluent German and English communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively across the DACH region and Poland.
  • Proven track record in hotel real estate, hospitality development, or related commercial real estate environments, with a strong understanding of the end-to-end hotel development process and investment economics.
  • Proven success delivering deals within a multi-branded hotel environment utilizing franchise and management agreement models.
  • Established network across the DACH region, including relationships with brokers, consultants, owners, operators, and investment groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to source, negotiate, and advance hotel development opportunities.
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field preferred.
