Director of Education

Location: National
Salary: Competitive Salary - Open to discuss

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Education to join an established specialist education provider supporting a diverse portfolio of SEN schools across the UK.

This is a high-profile leadership position, responsible for driving educational excellence across multiple settings. Working closely with senior leaders and executive leadership, you will ensure consistently high standards of teaching, learning, and outcomes while supporting the continued growth and development of the organisation.

This is not an operational school leadership role. Instead, your focus will be on educational strategy, school improvement, quality assurance, and developing exceptional educational practice across a large, geographically dispersed portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic educational leadership across a portfolio of specialist SEN schools.
  • Line manage and develop a team of senior education leaders and direct reports.
  • Drive continuous improvement in educational standards, curriculum quality, and teaching and learning.
  • Lead quality assurance processes, including school reviews, audits, and improvement planning.
  • Ensure consistency of educational practice and compliance across multiple sites.
  • Support Headteachers and senior leadership teams to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people.
  • Work collaboratively with Executive Leadership on strategic initiatives, acquisitions, school openings, and organisational growth.
  • Analyse educational performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Champion innovation, evidence-based practice, and a culture of continuous professional development.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
