Are you an engineering leader who enjoys shaping how engineering teams deliver rather than simply what they deliver?
This is an opportunity to join a global technology organisation in a highly influential leadership role, driving engineering excellence across multiple development teams.
About the Role
As Director of Engineering you'll define and champion the software engineering vision, embedding modern development practices, improving delivery quality and helping engineering teams build faster, more reliably and at greater scale.
Collaborating with senior technology leaders, you'll translate strategic objectives into practical engineering initiatives, establishing best practices across the software development lifecycle while influencing the future direction of engineering across the business.
You'll champion modern engineering approaches including cloud-native architecture, DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing, AI assisted development and developer productivity tooling. You'll help solve the organisation's most complex technical challenges, evolve engineering standards and ensure products remain secure, scalable and resilient.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
